A: The Nile River What are the two
main tributaries of the Nile and what are
the differences between them? How long
is the Nile? What was the flood cycle of
the Nile and how did it assist the farmers
along its banks? When and why was the
Aswan Dam built? How did the Aswan
Dam impact the flood cycle and
agriculture of Egypt? Find a map of the
full length of the Nile River. Print and
place it in your journal.
A: Cairo/Aswan/The Oasis Where are
these places located in Egypt? In Cairo,
how many years has the Egyptian
Museum been open? When were the
Giza pyramids built and were they the
first ever constructed in Egypt? What
are some popular tourist sites located in
Aswan? What are the names of the oasis
located in Egypt’s western desert? Find
some pictures of famous sites in Cairo,
Aswan or the oasis. Print and place them
in your journal.
B: The Country of Egypt What is
Egypt’s land size and estimated
population? Where do most Egyptian
live in relation to the Nile river? What is
the average yearly rainfall? What are
Egypt’s main sources of income? Who is
the political leader of Egypt and when
did he come to power? What is the
average income of most Egyptians? Find
a detailed map of the country of Egypt.

B: Alexandria/Luxor/The Sinai Where
are these places located in Egypt? When
did the original Alexandria Library exist?
What ancient wonder was located in
Alexandria? Where is the Valley of the
Kings located and how many pharaohs
were buried there? What other famous
sites are located in Alexandria and
Luxor? Name a mountain in the Sinai
peninsula and what it is famous for. Find
some pictures of famous sites in
Alexandria, Luxor or the Sinai. Print and
place them in your journal.

For each pharaoh determine three
things: which dynasty they belonged to,
which Kingdom they ruled during, and
one thing that they are famous for
accomplishing. Find images related to
each of the pharaoh’s. Print and place
them in your journal.
A: Creation and Death Find the story of
Nut and Geb. Who were they and who
were their parents?
What is the
“weighing of the heart”? Which gods or
goddesses were involved with it? What
happened to the spirit of the person who
did not pass the test? Find images of all
of these gods and goddesses. Print and
place them in the journal.
A: Narmer (also known as Menes),
Djoser, Khufu, Ahmos, Hatshepsut
B: Authority Find the story of Osiris and
Isis. Who were they and who were their
parents? What did Seth try to do to
Osiris? How did Isis help Osiris? How
did Horus try to avenge his father? Why
did most pharaohs model themselves
after Horus? Find images of all of these
gods and goddesses. Print and place
them in your journal.
