I travelled from Is‍tanbul to Aleppo on the Toros Express. The train usually leaves on
Sunday. It arrives thirty hours later. The countryside is very beautiful. On the way, we
saw the mountains. In Aleppo, we visited the souk. I bought a silver ring for my mother

some pos‍tcards to send to my grandparents and my uncle and aunt. From Palmyra, we
travelled to Damascus by car. Damascus is hotter than Aleppo. We saw the mosque. We ate
ice cream. We went to the souk. I bought a wooden box for my aunt and leather handbag
