On It’s Supernatural: The doctor said to this Israeli Jew, “You’re going to be paralyzed for the
rest of your life.” Then a supernatural word on a television show healed him instantly.
Can ancient secrets of the supernatural be rediscovered? Do angels exist? Is there life after
death? Are healing miracles real? Can you get supernatural help from another dimension? Has
the future been written in advance? Sid Roth has spent 30 years researching the strange world of
the supernatural. Join Sid on this edition of It’s Supernatural.
SID: Hello. Sid Roth here. Welcome to my world where it’s naturally supernatural. I believe the
greatest sign of the soon return of Jesus, besides Jerusalem in Jewish possession, we have
evidence of on this show. I believe that when you see large numbers of Jewish people turning to
Jesus, well Jesus himself said, “I will not return until the Jewish people say, ‘Blessed is he who
comes in the name of the Lord,’” you are going to see evidence that this is happening the United
States of America. My guest, Dr. Michael Brown, is one of the men in a book that God directed
me to write. He said more Jewish people would come to know him through this book than
anything I had ever done. And over 850,000 of these books are in print today. It’s called “They
Thought For Themselves”. It’s a simple book, ten testimonies of Jewish people that have come
to know Jesus. One of those testimonies is my friend, Dr. Michael Brown. It’s hard to believe
looking at you, Mike, that your nickname used to be “Drug Bear”. What was your life like?
MICHAEL: Well I grew up in a conservative Jewish home, born in New York City, raised in
Long Island. My dad was a senior lawyer in the New York Supreme Court. Everything defined
my upbringing. I was playing drums and I got caught up in the whole rock music counter culture
scene. So by the late 60’s, drugs was interesting to me. I started getting high at the age of 14 and
I got into it. I kind of took the plunge. I was shooting heroin at the age of 15. I actually stole
from my father. I broke into houses, broke into doctors’ office just for fun to steal drugs. They
use to call me Drug Bear and Iron Man, probably the most abusive drug user in my high school.
And at the of 16 and a half, two of my best friends had come to faith, gentile friends. They
believed Jesus was the Savior. I went to a church to pull them out and got confronted with God’s
love and goodness., and the reality that Jesus was our Messiah. And I got radically turned
around. At 16 and a half, December 17th of ’71, I said, “God I will never put a needle in my arm
again.” And that was it. I was transformed.
SID: Okay. What happens after you’re on fire for God and you come home, and you say, “Mom,
Dad, I’m off of drugs! I believe in Jesus!” Well first my dad said, “Halleluiah!” He was making
fun of me. “Oh yeah, great, really.” But they were so concerned about my drug use. I mean, I
lied to them. I told them it wasn’t quite that bad. But they found out I was shooting drugs and
things. So they were, “Wow! What happened? Are you serious? You’re not doing drugs. You’re
not high. You’re talking normally. You’re looking normal. You’re not hanging out with certain
people. You’re looking differently.” So they were thrilled, but there’s a problem. You’re a Jew,
not a Christian.
SID: Okay so the trot you out to the rabbi. What does the rabbi say to you?
2
MICHAEL: “You know, you’re a nice man, you’re sincere but you’re misled.” He said, “Look
you’re a very spiritual person, but you are wrong.” He sat me down to talk and he challenged me.
He said, “You don’t even know Hebrew.” And I said, “Yeah, but I’ve met Jesus. My life has
changed.” And I was reading the King James in English and I’m memorizing these verses, and I
can look up things that are in concordance and find out what the Hebrew says. And the guy said
to me, “It’s meaningless. If you don’t know the Hebrew it’s meaningless.” So he brings me to
other rabbis in Brooklyn, and these guys, long beards, black coats, ultra Orthodox Jews. Very
nice. And they take out their Hebrew Bibles and they’re pointing at it. I don’t remember how to
read the words. I mean, I learned a little Hebrew to get Bar Mitzvahed.
SID: I understand. I was where you are.
MICHAEL: It’s intimidating. They’re nice guys. They’re very devoted. They pray. They seem
to be very moral characters and caring. And they’re telling me, “Look, look, that’s not what the
Hebrew says. These English translations are terrible.” And I thought, I got to find out. I know
that God changed my life. I know Jesus is real. I mean, as surely as I know that I’m alive. But
they’ve got serious questions. If what I’m following is true it can withstand the test. If what I’m
following is true then the most rigorous answers from those educated rabbis will have answers.
Otherwise, I got to question this whole thing. So I started college. I started learning Hebrew
there.
SID: But bottom line, how many languages and dialects have you studied?
MICHAEL: 15-plus.
SID: And you have your Ph.D. from New York University.
MICHAEL: In Near Eastern languages and literature.
SID: Okay. So no one can say you don’t Hebrew.
MICHAEL: No.
SID: As a matter of fact, you have memorized a great deal of the Jewish Scriptures in Hebrew.
MICHAEL: Yes, it’s wonderful. It’s beautiful. Sometimes I wake up in the morning and I just
say, [Hebrew]. “To do your will, O God, I delight,” quoted from the Psalms. And here’s what’s
amazing, Sid. Okay, I want to learn Hebrew. I need to learn some of the related languages so I
can get the culture and the context. You know, I want to even rely on what commentary said.
I’ve been able to write commentaries myself now. I want to be able to dig and study myself. I
don’t want to have to listen what the rabbis say, the Christian scholars. I want to dig for myself.
And what’s fascinating is the more I dug, the more excited I became.
SID: How many years has this been?
MICHAEL: Well it’s 37-plus years.
3
SID: With your mind and the way you, between you and me, have you found anything that
would cause you to believe Jesus is not the Messiah after all of the years, all of this study? I
mean, you’ve worked on commentaries. You’ve memorized so much of the Jewish Scriptures. Is
there anything that causes you to doubt Jesus is the Messiah?
MICHAEL: Oh no, to the contrary. Seriously, with no hype here, Sid, the more I studied, the
more solid I realized our foundations were. I mean, the discoveries when you see the New
Testament authors quoting from the Hebrew Scriptures and the insights they had, when you dig
deeper and discover things you didn’t see before. And I went in saying, I got on my face, I
prayed as a young man, and I said, “God, if Jesus is not the Messiah then I will not follow him. I
don’t care what I lose, I’m gonna honor you. But if he is the Messiah, I don’t care what my
Jewish people think about me. I’m gonna follow him and I’m gonna honor You.” And Sid,
honestly, I read 1500 pages of books on answering Jewish objections to Jesus, air tight, definite,
clear. He is the Messiah, no doubt, no question. And if people really see God they’ll find out for
themselves.
SID: Look in the camera and give me one scripture in Hebrew and English why Jesus is the
Messiah.
MICHAEL: Surely. At the end of Isaiah 52: [Hebrew]. What does it say? “Behold my servant
will act wisely. He’ll be absolved and lifted up and very high.” And then it says, “Just as many
were appalled...” and it begins to speak of his suffering. Sid, it paints the picture of one who
would be high exalted so kings will shut their mouths because of him. But first, he’ll suffer
terrible disfigurement. As the chapter goes on in 53 it says, “His own people in Israel will reject
him and misunderstand him, think that he was dying for his own sins only to realize,” [Hebrew],
“at the cost of his wounds there’s healing for us.” It’s an amazing picture.
SID: It’s an amazing time we’re living in. Be right back after this word.
We’ll be right back to It’s Supernatural.

We now return to It’s Supernatural.
SID: Hello. Sid Roth here. In 1996, God instructed me through a dream to write a book. He said
more Jewish people would come to know Him through that book than anything that I had ever
done before. And history proves that this was a dream from God. Over 850,000 of these books
have been distributed in multiple languages. It’s ten Jewish people from ten different walks of
life: a Jewish Ph.D., Mike Brown, who you just saw, a Jewish mega-millionaire, a Jewish
concert pianist. Jewish people from every walk of life from Orthodox Jewish to Reform Jewish,
to atheist Jewish. Talking about Orthodox Jewish, I want you to learn Sharon Allen. Sharon
Allen was an Orthodox Jew. She moved to Southern California, married a gentile. They
personally helped build the synagogue in Southern California, and it was a ready for her husband
to convert to Orthodox Judaism. And he found out he had to deny Jesus. He had never brought
the subject of Jesus up to his wife. He was so Jewish in everything about him. But he could not
4
deny Jesus. And so his wife said, “Not to worry. I’ll just study the scriptures and absolutely
prove to you that Jesus is not the Messiah.” But let’s find out what she found out.
SHARON: I said to Ron, “You know, you’re such a successful businessman. How can you
believe in something so pagan and so mythological.” And at this point, I guess business was my
husband’s religion actually. But he just said, “Well, I don’t know.” It was just something that
was natural to him and he just couldn’t do this. It was a horror for me that morning. But then in a
moment I had a calming thought. I’ll just read my Jewish Bible. And I figured it wouldn’t take
me long. I’d start at the beginning and I’d start to read, and pretty soon I’d find a scripture that
would prove to my husband that that man could never have been the fulfillment of the Jewish
Bible. And I began to read. And my husband went off to work and my daughter went off to
school, and I sat there reading page after page. And hours later my daughter came home from
school and my husband came home from work, and there I was still sitting page after page
reading. And then the next morning my husband went off to work, my daughter went off to
school. And this went on for days, went on for weeks, went on for months. I couldn’t believe
what I was reading in my own Jewish Scriptures. The rabbis say that you cannot read the Hebrew
Scriptures without the commentaries. So I bought the Soncino commentaries. I bought the
Tanakh Series by Masora Publications. I bought the Rashi commentaries, and I kept reading.
And I kept researching and researching. I bought the Takamin. And I kept researching and
researching. I bought the Talmud and I kept reading and reading, and reading. And it seemed that
the early rabbis, the ancient rabbis, they recognized that there were two pictures of the Messiah
in the Hebrew Scriptures. They even had names for them: Mashiach ben Josef, Messiah, Son of
Joseph, who would come as the suffering servant, and Mashiach ben David, Messiah, Son of
David, who would come as the conquering hero king.
SID: And then, I mean, the most amazing thing. Remember now, no one is helping her. She’s
doing this search all on her own. And she found a secret code in the Jewish Scriptures. You see,
every Hebrew name has an English meaning. So she took the first ten names in the genealogy of
the Bible, and guess what she found? Take a look.
SHARON: What the message says, “Mankind turns their faces towards and are appointed
mortal, grievance sorrow to lament and to mourn.” Then with the next set of names, it says,
“God who is praised comes down to instruct and to consecrate. He is sent forth as a prophet
priest to be smitten and scourged, to die, to give rest and security, a quiet attitude of peace.”
SID: Imagine every name in the Bible has a message. And when she strung it together she got
the perfect presentation of the Gospel. Now a Jewish atheist in Israel, one of my favorite stories
in the book, David, Yaniv, he slipped, had an accident, hurt his back, had surgery on his back,
and he was paralyzed from the waist down. The doctors said no hope. You just have to learn to
live with it. And he starts watching, of all things in Israel, “The 700 Club”. And there is a word
of knowledge that comes forth. Someone is healed from the waist down. Let’s take a look at this
healing right now.
DAVID: That same evening around about 10 o’clock, as I was lying in bed, and the only way I
can describe it is like an electric shock that ran down from my spine to both my legs.
5
SID: Were you praying for this to happen that night?
DAVID: Not that night, no?
SID: Were you doing anything spiritual?
DAVID: I was reading a book.
SID: Okay.
DAVID: Reading a book.
SID: And all of a sudden this like electric charge shoots through-DAVID: And all of a sudden there was this electric shock from my spine to both my legs. My
legs started shuddering in a way that I had no control of them. And I didn’t pay attention because
a paralyzed person gets these unwanted movements every now and then. So I thought this was
one of those and I went to sleep. Yes, it’s a reflex. I went to sleep. The next morning, however,
in order to get out of my bed and strap myself into the shoes with the iron calipers and the corset,
and, you know, the whole paraphernalia, I had to assist my legs to get out of bed. And as I
touched my foot there was feeling. I touched myself everywhere else and there was feeling. And
with the catheter, all of a sudden I felt my bladder wants to work. Something which I never felt
for seven and a half years.
SID: Who did you tell?
DAVID: So here is my wife next to me in bed. I said, “Sheila, come quickly and see what
happened.” And my wife, bless her heart, she’s South African, and this is how she did it. She
said, “Rubbish! Close your eyes.” And she took a needle and she says, “Where am I pricking
you?” And let me tell you something. I struck her right away before she was going to make a
sinner out of me.
SID: You could feel everything?
DAVID: Every prick.
We’ll be right back to It’s Supernatural.

We now return to It’s Supernatural.
SID: Hello. Sid Roth here. I’m going to show you something in a moment that is historic. To
my knowledge, there had never been so many Jewish people at one meeting in the United States
of America coming to know Jesus. I’ve invited my good friend and board member, Warren
6
Marcus, to be with me right now, because he videotaped what occurred. Warren, I’m gonna ask
you what affect it had on you in a moment. But this was a life changing experience.
WARREN: It’s amazing, Sid. I mean, I had no idea when we walked in there what would
happen. As a matter of fact, I was wondering if anybody would show up because we were in a
totally Jewish area.
SID: We had 400 chairs set up and they had to keep pulling chairs. So we had between four and
500 people.
WARREN: And you had said, “Put more chairs out there.” And I’m thinking, Sid is going
mashugana or something. There’s something-SID: Oh by the way, Warren is also a Jewish believer in Jesus.
WARREN: And so I just said, you know, he must a word of knowledge or something, or some
idea that something is gonna happen. But when I saw the people show up, that was the first
miracle. There were so many Jewish people who didn’t know Yeshua who were there to hear a
lecture on the supernatural. No music, no setting, no spiritual thing like that that we’d think at a
kind of a setting like a church.
SID: Right.
WARREN: It was just a lecture on the supernatural.
SID: Nothing religious. There was nothing religious in the advertising. There was nothing
religious in what I said. But these Jewish people saw God. Let’s take a look at the video footage.
(video) Brighton Beach was established in 1878. Brighton Beach is situated at the world famous
Coney Island in Brooklyn, New York. Brighton Beach has been dubbed “Little Odessa” because
of the influx of Russian Jewish immigrants who have made Brighton Beach their home. Under
the roaring sounds of the elevated trains, you can still find the Russian influence by the signs on
the stores that are written in both English and Russian. The street vendors sell Russian books
and relics from their former homeland. Although there are synagogues, the Russian Jewish
people are independent. They are open and curious concerning the supernatural. Sid Roth and
Messianic Vision had a burden to reach out to this community with the Gospel. They rented a
secular theater. The posters under the marquee advertises Russian movies, comics and events.
Sid Roth placed a newspaper ad in a Russian publication with an invitation to attend a lecture
on the supernatural. They also ran a TV ad on a Russian cable station and on a electronic
billboard advertising the event.
Man (video): [Russian]
(video) A local Messianic congregation handed out flyers outside the theater. As a result, over
400 curious Russian Jews crowded the theater. There was no worship music. Instead, a video
was played showing testimonies of people who had an encounter with the supernatural from Sid
Roth’s TV program, It’s Supernatural.
(video) [background crowd noise, applause]
7
(video) Sid Roth began sharing his background.
Sid (video): Every miracle we read about in the Bible I have seen and talked to people that have
experienced them.
(video) The woman who had been confined to a wheelchair for over two years rose out of her
wheelchair and began to walk.
Woman (video): [Russian]
[background applause]
(video) The atmosphere became charged with faith to believe God for the impossible.
Sid (video): Everyone that wants to know God for themselves.
Woman (video): [Russian]
Sid (video): Stand up right now and remain standing.
Woman (on videotape): [Russian]
Sid (video): Dear God.
Woman (video): [Russian]
Sid (video): I have made many mistakes.
Woman (video): [Russian]
Sid (video): For which I’m so sorry.
Woman (video): [Russian]
Sid (video): I believe.
Woman (video): [Russian]
Sid (video): The blood of Yeshua...
Woman (video): [Russian]
SID: (video): Washes away my bad deeds.
SID: I’ll tell you. I don’t know about you , Warren, but I get shaky when I see that. I get so
excited. When that woman got out of the wheelchair and her attendant shared, “I’ve never seen
her walk before,” what happened to the spiritual atmosphere in that room?
WARREN: It just cranked up. I mean, you could feel God’s spirit. And you hadn’t even
revealed who the healer was yet. You were talking about your journey to find God, to find out
the door to the supernatural, the true God, who He was. And I remember that people were getting
healed. They didn’t know who the healer was. You said, “God is here. His river is here.” They
were seeing the miracles. Miracles were happening. And then when you asked them to receive
Yeshua into their lives as you had done and that he was the healer, I believe that’s what brought
about that incredible altar call, in essence, people standing and saying unashamedly, Jewish
people to say that they wanted their Messiah, the one who came years ago, who was rejected by
our religious leaders. And here they were receiving him. And it was like the Bible coming alive,
because when Yeshua walked the earth he was healing people. There was miracles happening.
And it says that I believe it’s not just the Jews that need to see miracles. I believe the gentiles
need to see miracles. I believe the Church needs to see miracles. Those who are living in the
Church today don’t’ understand how marvelous our God is because we’ve become just like Israel
was when Yeshua came and they denied the supernatural. They denied the power. It says that
they had a form of God that denied the power. And when you have a form without power, it’s
dead. And that’s what we’re seeing is death. And what I want to tell you is what really moved
my heart is my own grandparents, they were Russian Jews. And when I walked that
neighborhood and I saw all those people there, I saw my grandparents who died without knowing
8
Yeshua. And these people were like my grandparents. And I saw the faces of these people and
they were like--and I started weeping.
SID: That’s the way I feel as you’re speaking right now.
WARREN: And just tears were coming out. And I was trying to film, but the tears just kept
flowing.. And even after we left, for days I was wrecked by this thing, because I said, this is what
we need to do. We need to share Yeshua because the openness now-SID: It’s new. It’s now.
WARREN: It’s now.
SID: This is a new day. Forget what’s happened in the past. God did something. I didn’t lead
these people to the Lord. God did it and He’s just saying to you if you’ll just open your mouth,
He will fill it, and you will be able to, you see, when you got Heaven, you only take one thing
with you: souls. He who wins souls is wise. Be wise. This is God’s moment of mercy on Israel.
The reason that you are watching is the next Jewish person that crosses your path get ready to
open your mouth and pray for a miracle.
