This is so we can totally dedicate water safety resources to those trying out Triathlon in the EN-TRI. This change will ensure the safety of all athletes in the three Adult Races. Samoa Triathlon Series There are 3 Races EN-TRI 100m swim, 3.4km bike, 1km run – 9.30am Start 522 TRI 500m swim, 20km bike, 3.4km Run – 9.00am Start Championship Tri - 1km Swim, 30km bike, 7km run – 9.00am Start Tamatoa Course IMPORTANT: Bring your Race numbers from last time; Wear them on the front about belly button area so it is visible to the Counters. Tamatoa Swim will start at the same time, with the little U8s to start at the back of the field and assisted by parents or adults. Tamatoa Under 8s 8AM Start (behind the bigger kids) Swim – 100m, 50m out and back. Mandatory official swim cap ($20 one off cost) Bike – 1.6km, 4 x circuits of Parliament Square (see diagrams). Parliament Square is 400m in one circuit. The racing will go anti-clock wise. This is to allow the children to ride with the traffic flow on the Mulinu’u road. U8s will do one less circuit than U10s. Run – 1km, U8s will do 2.5 circuits of the Square. The .5 is less than .5, it is the distance between Exit and Entry points in the square. Parents please help your child with the counting as will the Race marshalls. Tamatoa Under 10s 8AM Start Swim – 100m, 50m out and back. Two circuits of the Blue line between Origin Gas and the end of the Peninsula. When exiting the transition after the Swim, U13s will go with the flow of the Tamatoa Race. When on the main road will carry on to the end of the Peninsula. Run – 2kms, the Run is switched to Parliament square and not on the Bike course. U13s will complete 5 rounds of the Square going anti-clock wise (see diagram). 2 522 & CHAMPIONSHIP TRI 9AM Start IMPORTANT: Bring your Race numbers from last time; Wear them on the front about belly button area so it is visible to the Counters. 522 TRI, 9AM Start Swim – 500m, 250m out and Back Bike – 20kms, 4 x Circuits of Bike Course, end of Peninsula to Town Clock Return. Exit from transition – see diagram for Bike course flow. Counters will be on hand to remind you how many laps you have to go. Run – 3.4kms. Two circuits of the Run Course – see Event Map. Same flow as the Bike. CHAMPIONSHIP TRI, 9AM Start Swim – 1Km, 500m out and Back Bike – 30kms, 6 x Circuits of Bike Course, end of Peninsula to Town Clock Return x 6 times. Exit from transition – see diagram for Bike course flow. Counters will be on hand to remind you how many laps you have to go. Run – 7kms (6.8). Four circuits of the Run Course – see Event Map. Same flow as the Bike. 522 TRI, 9.30AM Start Swim – 100m, 50m out and Back Bike – 3.4kms, 1 x Circuit of Bike Course, Transition/Parliament Square to Town Clock Return. Exit from transition – see diagram for Bike course flow. When exiting transition, turn right at the back of Parliament Square, right again on the road between the Court House and Parliament square. Once at the main road – bike straight across and turn right again and head to the Town clock. When returning from the Town clock – turn left into Parliament square at the first entrance closest to Town – same entrance that you enter Transition after the swim. Run – 1km. One circuit of the Run Course – see Event Map. Unlike the Bike flow, once you reach the main road, you turn left and head to the end of hte Peninsula. Do one circuit of the Run course. RACE RULES: 1. No drafting. 1 minute Penalty for Drafting – decision will be made by the Race Director (no discussion entered into). 2. No Drafting rule – Stay 10meters behind or overtake the front rider in 10secs 3. Official 2014 Bluesky Samoa Triathlon Swim Caps only - $20 one off cost. Your swim cap will be checked off at Registration 4. Helmets are mandatory 5. Wear Race numbers in front of your Shirt so you are visible to the Counters TEAM RULES 1. Tag at Transition, Cyclist should be ready with tag already on 2. After Bike, if the runner is not the biker, transfer the Race number from one to the other before continuing – wear Race number on the front of your shirt 3. Teams to run to the finish together – team members can join the runner half way down the field by transition 4.
