Information from the MS Society
The General Election
The MS Society is urging members to quiz any candidates who come to your door
and have compiled a toolkit to help in this. www.mssociety.org.uk/GE2015 Key areas
are to give MS a voice, ensure people with MS [pwms] can access treatment at the
right time, make benefits work for pwms and fight for pwms to access the care they
need when they need it.
Stop MS
Stop MS is the name of the National Appeal to fundraise over £100m to fund
research. There are many high profile events which will form part of the Appeal.
Election of Trustees and National Councils
Anyone who would like to be considered for being a Trustee or a member of a
National Council should contact the Governance team when the application process
starts. [email protected]
Branch Annual Meeting 13th May @7.30pm.
The current treasurer has been doing the role for many years and has decided to not
stand this year. This role and any others on the committee look good on a CV and
offer the chance to gain many transferable skills like teamwork, public speaking,
organisational skills, as well as networking within the society and in the local
community, I encourage the branch members to consider stepping up to the mark
and helping the branch committee in any way they feel able as well as gaining many
vital skills.

way of fundraising and can involve friends, family and the community making
donations through buying cakes etc.
Community Groups
Groups such as Rotary and the Round Table are good to get involved with and to let
