Instructions on how to create a free electronic invitation to your Dining for Friends Party / Event 1. Visit the different FREE e-vite websites and pick out the template you want to use. Most of the text can be edited, so if you are hosting a backyard barbeque and find an invite that fit’s your theme perfectly, but is for a birthday party, you can probably reword it to be a DFF party. I will be using Punchbowl for these step-by-step instructions. a. Punchbowl.com b. Evite.com c. Pingg.com 2. Once you find an e-vite you like, sign up to register for use (it’s free). You can connect with your Facebook, which makes it easy to sign on to the site, as it will remember your password. 3. Punchbowl’s easy steps to get started: a. When is your event? Soon b. What type of event are you hosting? You can choose any type of party to see the different templates and designs, you can always go back and choose a different type, like birthday, dinner/drinks, etc. I chose “professional” because it has a fundraising template. c. Do you know where you will host the event? Yes d. Continue 4. Choose your subcategory. I chose “Charity/ Fundraiser” under “Professional.” 5. I chose the “Party with a Purpose” card. Click on in to edit it, press “continue.” 6. Edit the text to include the information to your party. You can change the font, size, and color also. 7. Now you can edit the details of the party. Give as much information as possible. Example: Please join me for a cookout to benefit the Triad Health Project's 24th Annual Dining for Friends. We will feast on yummy brats (and veggie dogs) and beer. Please feel free to bring your spouses and kids - this is a family affair! We will be collecting monetary and food pantry donations for THP. We hope you can make it, but if you can't or if you prefer to donate electronically, please visit www.triadhealthproject.com and click "donate". Be sure to you note "party 14" in the "in support of" block. Thanks! 8. Click the green button above the envelope that says “Continue to envelope and postage.” Here you can change the color of the envelope, the rubber stamp on the front of the envelope, the stamp, and the envelope liner. Have fun! 9. 10. 11. 12. 13. 14. 15. 16. Now that your design is finished, PunchBowl will ask you a series of questions. If you would like to host a potluck, the e-vite can be used to sign up to bring something. Otherwise, say “no.” It will still take you to a menu of options, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click “continue”. If you would like to share your invite via private messages on Facebook, click “yes” when you get to that option. This is great if you don’t have everyone’s email but are still friends in Facebook. When you get to the “Add Guests” page, click “import webmail” to add email addresses from your email contacts. Once you give permission to access your contacts, you can scroll through and select the email addresses of people you want to invite. Click “add to invite list” when you are done selecting email addresses. Click “continue” to preview your e-vite. Click “no” to a free trial membership to remove ads. It is not necessary. Send a test to yourself to make sure you got all of the details right. Click “send email” Click “Manage guests” to view the guest list, see if they have opened the e-vite, responded to the rsvp, and sent any messages. You can send reminder messages to people before the event. We hope you have a fun and successful Dining for Friends party. Thank you for all that you do help us raise vital funds through DFF and throughout the year! Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.
