Put Through Behind Your Back!
The t h o u g h t s c a r e y o u ? It could happen though at a n y t i m e . . . A n d , there's
nothing you could do to stop it — it's already the law. Just ask Mr. Fehrenbach. Did you know Mr. Fehrenbach, besides voting for the obnoxious 2 %
sales tax, also thinks it's quite alright for the County to tack on an additional
3 % at any time. He voted that stipulation in too, all neatly packaged as
part of the 2 % sales tax bill. Just ask Mr. Fehrenbach.
Someone did ask him, at a local School Board meeting. The dialogue went
this w a y — Q . " M r . Fehrenbach, are you in favor of an additional 3 % County
sales t a x ? " " A . There's no need for it n o w . "
Well then Mr. Fehrenbach, we'll ask you this — When does now end. As
soon as you take over the Town? Or will you wait a week or two?
The Nassau County Board of Supervisors now has the power to impose this
additional 3 % tax on its own, without public referendum or vote.
Isn't it logical to believe that Mr. Fehrenbach, who voted for the state sales
tax as an Assemblyman, would not only fight against repeal of the present
inequitable tax, but would also vote for the 3 % increase? As Oyster Bay
Town Supervisor, Mr. Fehrenbach would sit on the Nassau County Board of
Supervisors, r e a d y to b a c k up his b e l i e f in " T a x a t i o n W i t h o u t
Representation."
If you could feel secure with Mr. Fehrenbach scheming at the c o n t r o l s . . .
pleasant dreams.
