Chairperson:

What a busy start we have had to the year!
Treasurer:

Congratulations to everyone for the way they participated in
freezing conditions in our Swimming Carnival last week where we
managed to experience all the seasons in one day. Everyone competed
in a variety of stroke and novelty events. It was lovely to see so many
parents and family members supporting the children and assisting with
judging. Thank you to the Staff, Lynden and Mr Hyland for their
organization and to the ladies who ran the Canteen all day.
Congratulations also to the House Captains who helped throughout the
day and supported our younger students in the pool.

COURT UPGRADES
Last week saw the courts patched and ground and
students watched on excitedly last Thursday as the
first coat of blue paint was put on. Progressively this
week we have seen more layers of paint swept on the
court including the first coat of red today! Keep your
eye out for an article about the courts and the Show
Committee in the ‘North Eastern Advertiser”.
ATHLETICS CARNIVAL
This Friday we will be holding our annual School
Athletics Carnival. Although we are only just finishing
swimming and with such a busy term, we must begin
athletics as we also have the NE and ENE Athletics
Carnivals later this term. A school team will be
selected to participate in these carnivals. A list of
events is attached to this week’s newsletter. A
reminder that students are encouraged to wear their
house colour, red for Paris and light blue for Victoria.
All students need to have a warm jumper, plenty to
drink and snacks for throughout the day. The School
Association will be running a canteen on the day,
please see the menu below, however students will
only be able to access it at lunch time. Spectators can
use it at any time. The carnival will begin at 11.00am
with long jump and shot putt being held in the morning
from 9.00am. If you are able to assist with either long
jump or at the main carnival, can you please contact
myself or the office. The 1500m race will be run next
Monday and the 800m races and High Jump will be
held next Friday. We look forward to seeing parents
and supporters this Friday at the Carnival.
NE ATHLETICS CARNIVAL
After our carnival this Friday, students selected to
participate in the North East Athletics Carnival on
March 28th will receive a letter. Please return the
permission slip by the date indicated on the form.
PIPs TESTING
Children in Prep completed their PIPs testing this
week. Results will be shared with parents once we
receive them.

Next Wednesday all Prep to Grade 6 students will be
bringing home their Progress Report. This report is
designed to show how your child has settled into the
new school year, and a focus for their learning for the
future. Kinder parents will receive a phone call from
Miss Suitor to discuss how your child has settled in. If
you have any questions about the report please
contact the classroom teacher to make an
appointment.
GRIP LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
Tomorrow our School Leaders have been invited to
attend the annual Grip Leadership Conference at the

about their fantastic day, and what invaluable lessons
they have learnt to assist them as leaders in our
