50 Percent for mailer 9

Honoring those
who served our
great nation.
Dear Veterans:
In deep appreciation and respect of the sacrifices that you and your family have made serving in the
United States Armed Forces, when an honorably discharged veteran enters into a new pre-arrangement
plan with the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home or passes away, our new veteran funeral and
cremation programs* offer veterans a 50% discount on caskets, cremation urns and the use of our
beautifully-appointed Olympian Plaza Reception & Event Center for fellowship or Celebration of Life
services.
In addition, honorably discharged veterans, who choose cremation arrangements at the Shrine of
Remembrance, can have their cremated remains inurned in an already developed space at the Garden of
Athena, Columbarium of Victory without additional cost using a VA provided, bronze niche plaque for
permanent memorialization. With this offer, we want to make a difference due to the bad economy
and the resulting hard times veteran families may experience at this time. This offer will further assist
low-income veterans who are receiving Medicaid benefits.
For over 40 years we have been Colorado Springs’ faithful provider of legendary and reasonably priced
service to our veterans and their families. Our commitment to excellence at our full service funeral
home, on-site crematory, mausoleum and columbarium facilities offers everything one might desire in a
uniquely beautiful place that is dignified and stately for families to visit during their time of need.
We will make arrangements for you to be forever remembered at Fort Logan National Cemetery,
Arlington National Cemetery, the Air Force Academy, the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum’s
Veterans Honor Court or any cemetery of your choosing. We will assist you in obtaining all of the
military benefits you are entitled to including military honors, United States flag, applicable VA
financial benefits, Presidential Certificate, burial space at a national cemetery, burial vault at a national
cemetery, and VA headstone or bronze marker (if applicable). With us nothing will be left undone!
For your peace of mind, call us for a no-obligation tour of our facilities and to speak with one of our
counselors to answer your questions regarding this program. Also, please know that we will consider
honoring, without additional cost to you, any reasonable, preneed funeral/cremation plan written by
other funeral homes or funeral insurance companies (for veterans or non-veterans) and will commit to
the same in writing. Please let your veteran friends know about this most generous and genuine
offer. They will be glad you did. It is our family’s privilege to be of service to your family.

*(Up to $1,000,000.00 in veteran discounts [including 400 complimentary veteran inurnment spaces] has been allocated
for this program. Inurnment spaces will be designated for veterans who have passed away or are prearranging their
cremations on a first come, first served basis. For non-veterans, our casket price list provides for a best price
guarantee and we will match the published price of any Colorado Springs funeral home or retailer of caskets on
identical or similar units… plus 10% savings.) Please .ote: Unless prearranged through a funded, preneed contract,
this offer and all other offers mentioned in this advertisement will be available until Memorial Day 2011, unless our
Board of Directors elect to extend it. Our compliance with Colorado pre-need law is above reproach. This has not been
true with many other funeral homes and out-of-state companies who sell in Colorado Springs. The Colorado Insurance
Commissioner’s Office can provide you with more details on the subject. The law requires 75% of all funds to be
placed in trust. Our funeral home is voluntarily
placing 100% in trust from its infancy.
After ten years of planning and design work, the Shrine of Remembrance is proud to announce having received approval
to begin construction of approximately 5 acres with breathtaking views of Pikes Peak and the Front Range for our new
“America the Beautiful” Legacy and Tribute Gardens.
The development will include a new chapel mausoleum and outdoor pavilion. The perimeter of the property will ultimately
contain beautiful rose gardens with over 75,000 niches, including family estate spaces for above and below-ground
inurnment, dedicated to honor our veterans and their families in Southern Colorado. With the Shrine having already
received recognition by two former U.S. presidents, this new site will be destined to become the most desirable cremation
and memorialization gardens in the state of Colorado. Veterans war theater memorials will be featured throughout.
