The Legislative Branch makes laws for Wisconsin. Oshkosh has two representatives, Gordon Hintz and Michael Schraa, to the State Assembly. Oshkosh has one senator, Richard Gudex, in the State Senate. Governor Scott Walker and Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch are part of the executive branch. State Superintendent Tony Evers, Attorney General Brad Schimel, Secretary of State Doug LaFollette, and State Treasurer Kurt Schuller are also part of the Executive Branch. The State Superintendent of Public Instruction is in charge of Wisconsin’s public schools and makes sure schools follow laws. The Attorney General advises state agencies about the law and explains laws. 3 The Judicial Branch must solve disagreements about what laws mean in Wisconsin. There are seven Supreme Court Justices. The Supreme Court Justices in court in the capitol building. Sometimes the Supreme Court Justices meet in other locations besides the capitol building.
