MSHS Boys’ Cross Country
The MSHS cross country team placed second at the Peoria Notre Dame Invitational, losing
only to Neuqua Valley, which is ranked #1 in AAA State and #3 in the Nation.
By taking second place, the Bulldogs beat out Lake Zurich, which is ranked #2 in AAA State

and #14 in the Nation, along with beating Wheaton Warrensville South, rankind #9 in AAA

The Bulldogs took 8 of the 60 medals handed out at the Invitational. Andrew Walmer placed
12th, Riley Fortune placed 24th, Ryan Hodge placed 28th, Mathias Powell, 31st, Brian
Butcher, 33rd, and Gabe Pommier 50th place in the varsity race.
Evan Burge won the 1st place medal in the open race, and Garret Williams placed 6th.
MSJHS Cross Country
Elizabeth Sims took third place at 13:25 in the MSJHS varsity race Saturday. The Bulldogs
placed 3rd overall, beaten by Tolono Unity and Shelbyville.
The boys’ cross country team placed second behind Olympia during the same meet. Joseph
Scheele led the Bulldogs, finishing 10th at 12:34.
Grethen Scheele led MSJHS in the girls’ open race, finishing fourth at 15:07. Anthony
Ramirez won the open meet at 12:52.
MSHS Football
Mahomet­Seymour rounded up their second win 14­13 over Pontiac on Friday night.
Seniors Zach Daebelliehn and Dann­e Simmons each scored touchdowns, while Tristan
Leever connected on two field goals, making up for the extra point needed to win the game.
MSHS Soccer
Although the Bulldogs outshot and out­possessed Bloomington Saturday, they could not
connect on enough goals to capture the victory.
Assisted by Trevor Burgess, Evan Lundstrom scored in the second half. Bloomington had
two goals in the first half.
