The Ocala Vet Center and Malcom Randall VA Medical Center invite you to the
Ocala Mental Health Summit
Hosted by
The purpose of the Mental Health Summit is to enhance the mental health and well-being of Veterans and
their family members through increased collaboration between the VA and the community. Our goal is to
engage in active dialogue on how we as a community can address the mental healthcare needs and better
engage Veterans and their families in Marion county, Citrus county, and The Villages.
Our objectives are to:
1. Identify current VA and non-VA resources for addressing the mental health care needs of Veterans
and their family members.
2. Begin a dialogue on strategies for collaboration between VA and the community in meeting the
needs of Veterans in these areas.
3. Identify gaps and/or challenges in meeting the mental healthcare needs of Veterans and their family
members.
4. Develop an initial plan for action in collaboration with the community to address identified needs.
The Summit will be held at
D. Elliot Educational Center at Hospice of Marion County

on Friday February 21st from 10AM to 2PM.

The format for the MH Summit will include break-out sessions/small group discussions for active dialogue and
engagement between participants. A lead will be designated for each small group with the role of facilitating
dialogue. An After Action Report will be compiled from all information received and will be used to determine
further action.
