TGI - PadTrac™ Field Perimeter Signage System: UFL Case Study
Overview
During the Spring of 2010, TGI Systems was contracted by the United Football
League to provide player-safe, field-level advertising positions on the perimeter
of the football playing field. TGI reviewed the current solutions available in the
marketplace and decided there was room to improve and created our own.
PadTrac™ is Born
The result was a safe and durable padded sign in the A-frame style that is 10’
long and can accept either a 10’ long banner or a 20’ banner placed over 2
units, with the option of spectator-side messaging on the reverse side. When
in position on the field, PadTrac™ provides a straighter, more uniform and
professional appearance than existing sideline signage products

Design & Production
Updated:
The majority of the 3’ x 20’ ads were designed by TGI Systems from a
customer-supplied logo. Logos and other art files are submitted to TGI’s ftp
site, and within 24 hours a design is created and sent to the league sponsorship
staff for approval. TGI also created inventory control documents to help the
teams track sponsor art, the game day look of the field, and post-match
sponsor reports. TGI Systems provided additional signage such as team flags,
locker room signs and a scoreboard banner for the 2009 championship team,
the Las Vegas Locomotives.

Each system would be transported and stored between games in a 26’ straight
truck. The Field Crew Chief, responsible for installation of the system and game
day management, served double duty as the Logistics Manager.
Each field received 40 positions (80 PadTrac™ signs). National sponsors were
set along the long edge of the field, local sponsor and team-branded banners
were in the end zones. Installation for each game took about 3-4 hours for a
crew of 3.
