«NAME» Together we make a difference Tena Koutou Katoa Isn’t it absolutely brilliant to have some spells of summer weather at last. Hopefully it will stay around for quite a while. After last week’s very full and informative newsletter this one has really just got a few reminders in it. Enjoy your weekend. Yahoo the Super 18 has started! Regards, Neal Board of Trustees Update A full update on Board of Trustee happenings will appear in next week’s newsletter. Pumpkin Evening/Welcome Along/School Sports Evening Just a reminder that this evening is for everyone, with the pumpkin bit being a very small part of it. We will get the school BBQ going and if everyone can bring something to put on it or some goodies from home and your own beverages. It would be really cool to have all of the school’s families along to meet, greet and have a few laughs together. REMEMBER: THURSDAY THE 9TH OF MARCH Swimming Superb to see all of the children continuing to bring their swimming gear along. The pool is coming into its own now. The Te Kawau swimming sports have been a bit of a debacle this year because of the unavailability of the Rongotea pool. Forget what I said in the last newsletter, the Te Kawau Small Schools’ sports are now being held on Friday the 10 th of March at the Freyberg pool. More information will follow. Unfortunately the Te Kawau (competitive) swimming sports are being held when the senior room is on camp. Senior Room Camp A huge thank you to everyone for returning all of the required paperwork. A notice with a few more specific details; transport, parent helpers and food requirements (to name a few) will come out next week. Junior Room Overnight Camp Information about this is attached to this newsletter – if you are the parent of a Junior Room child. Home & School Fundraising 2017 Home and School are planning a number of fundraisers this year. These are as follows: Hot cross buns- to be delivered to school on the 7th April Bulbs – yet to confirm Corn Pies – to be delivered to school on the 2nd August More information and order forms will be sent home closer to the time of each fundraiser. Friday’s Lunch Hamburger Day – $2. Please order in the book in the senior room. Missing Library Books Wahoo! Two actually came back, a 33% success rate. The missing books that sill remain at large are: The Lost Twin Ugly Dogs and Slimey Frogs Diary of a Wimpy Kid – Double Down Up the Creek Tennis Coaching It was only for 40 minutes and it was all pretty frantic but all of the children certainly enjoyed smacking the balls around. With another four lessons happening the children will be playing like professionals in no time. Technology (Manual) Fees An invoice for the Year 7’s $40 technology fee is attached to this newsletter. If this could be paid as soon as possible please (to help tidy up the books). Congratulations To….. Junior Room Isabella – great creative writing. Oliver and Riley – more independent writing. Marcus – great work in Maths. Senior Room Angus – brilliant work with his reading. Alexis – concentrating on her work. Anna – terrific writing that is virtually error free. Alan – I thought we would stay on the “A” theme. Somewhere there is an Alan who deserves a certificate for something! Birthdays Happy birthday to Riley who turns 6 on Sunday. Events Coming Up…..
