Under the provisions of Section 62 of the Traffic Safety Act, the holder of this permit is exempt from the requirements to retain
the specified documents at their principal place of business in Alberta as identified in this permit.
Conditions:
General
*
The permit holder may retain the originals or copies of the records or direct electronic access to such
records, applicable to vehicles registered in Alberta and the drivers of those vehicles, referred to in the
following Alberta regulations:
-Drivers' Hours of Service Regulation, AR317/2002, Section 16(1) - Retention of daily records, logs
and supporting documents
-Commercial Vehicle Certificate and Insurance Regulation, AR314/2002, Section 43(1) - Retention of
driver records
-Commercial Vehicle Safety Regulation, AR121/2009, Section 37(3) - Retention of commercial
vehicle records

The permit holder must retain a copy of the:
-Safety program (as identified in the Commercial Vehicle Certificate and Insurance Regulation,
AR314/2002, Section 40)
-Maintenance program (as identified in the Commercial Vehicle Safety Regulation, AR121/2009,

Section 6) and
at each of the above named locations.

The permit holder must produce all requested records to a person authorized by Alberta Transportation,
Carrier Services, at the principal place of business in Alberta, within a maximum of 7 days, unless
otherwise specified.
Permit Holder

The permit holder shall comply with all other laws applicable to hours of service, labour, and
transportation legislation.
*
At all times the permit holder and their drivers must be in compliance to ALL applicable transportation
regulations, both administrative and operation, other than those specifically exempted by this permit.

The permit holder must designate in writing one or more persons, located in Alberta, (as identified in
the Commercial Vehicle Certificate and Insurance Regulation, AR314/2002, Section 4(1)(f)) who are
responsible for:
-The inspection, maintenance and repair program, and
-The safety program.

The permit holder must have and implement specific written policies and procedures included in their
safety program to ensure that all other conditions in this permit are being complied with at all times. All
documentation related to compliance with this condition must be made available to an authorized
person when requested.

The permit holder must comply with this permit and all other transportation legislation as per Section
132 of the Traffic Safety Act. The Director, Carrier Services in Alberta, may amend, suspend or cancel
this permit for failure to comply with any provisions or conditions of this permit or for general poor
regulatory compliance. (Such as: being issued a "Conditional" safety fitness rating; not obtaining or
retaining a "Satisfactory" or "Excellent" Safety Fitness Rating; having an unacceptable carrier profile;
obtaining an unacceptable score on an audit/investigation, etc.).

The permit holder must retain a copy of this permit at their principal place of business in Alberta and at
all addresses specified above where records are authorized to be retained. The permit holder shall
produce a copy of this permit upon request of any authorized person.

The Director may require the permit holder to provide any other information that is deemed necessary
in order to confirm compliance to the permit or to any applicable transportation legislation.
*
This permit is only valid while the permit holder has commercial vehicles registered in Alberta under
the National Safety Code program.
*
Permit holder is required to achieve an audit score acceptable to the Director, when required by the
Director, to undergo a specified National Safety Code Audit and/or a specified Permit Inspection audit.
