Festival Kinensai
Rice harvested from the sacred rice field in
the past year is given in offering to the
gods, and prayers are said for another year of rich
harvest. The offered rice will be used to grow young
plants for the rituals, which will take place at this
year's sacred rice field.

Spring Higane Ritual
"Higan" means going to the world of spiritual awakening. Every year, a ritual is held on the vernal equinox day
when day and night are the same length. A Shitennoji
Temple, each hall conducts a ritual to respect the
ancestors. Visitors can enjoy browsing street stalls
lining the road from the station to the temple.

Osaka Asian Film Festival 2015
There are some fine pieces of work
with good potential among films made
in Asia although they are not shown
very often. A charming aspect of this
film festival is encountering excellent
works from Asia earlier than others.
The opening movie is a Japanese
mo v ie, " A SL EEP ". It is filme d b y
WAKAGI Shingo and the closing movie
be the Korean film "Ode To My Father",
starring HWANG Jung-Min, directed by YUN Je-gyun. The film will have its
Japan premiere at Osaka ABC Hall on March 15 (Sun)

Asian Star Festival
Osaka Government Tourism Bureau(OGTB) will host a Red Capet event
"Asian Star Festival"- an opportunity for Asia's film culture to come
together, to advance cultural exchange, and generate mutual encouragement towards further exchange through travel and tourism. Sakura Ando
and co-star Arata Iura, in the movie "Asleep", amongst other special guests

The Nipponbashi Street Festa is one of the biggest anime-themed
events in Kansai, featuring cosplayers in elaborate attire, robot performances, live music and much more. This popular event is a must for
anybody interested in seeing the ultimate in Japanese pop culture. The
cosplayers are more than happy to pose for photos, so don't be afraid
to take your camera.

OSAKA KAWAii!! 2015 is a
large-scale bash that
welcomes non-Japanese
visitors to the area and aims
to inject more KAWAii!! and

the America Mura area transformed into a KAWAii!! mecca,
with live performances from up-and-coming acts set to break in 2015,

Sweet and savory strawberries can be enjoyed for
30 minutes, as much as

farm-grown strawberries
at the site. A dessert cooking class (reservations required)

Strawberry Picking
Enjoy sweet and savory strawberries in an all-you-can-eat style,
under cherry blossoms in bloom.
Other vegetables and fruits grown
in the 3.5 h farm include mandarin
oranges and other citrus fruits, figs,
chestnuts, plums, persimmons,
sweet potatoes, and potatoes.
Furthermore, visitors can enjoy a
wide variety of programs and
events in the park, including a charcoal barbecue lunch (2,500 yen per

digging in autumn, rice-cake making

Asuka Ruby strawberries (produced by crossing the varieties Asuka
Wave and Nyoho), in all-you-can-eat style for 1 hour.
Asuka Ruby strawberries are large, juicy berries with a
good balance between sweetness and acidity. In addition
to fresh-picked strawberries, visitors can enjoy free
cakes, ice cream and drinks. Also, free condensed milk
and chocolate sauce are provided. The farm is barrier
free, so persons in wheelchairs and people pushing baby
strollers can also enjoy strawberry picking without any
worries. (Those with reservations are served first)
