Intended purpose of the 6” Convex Mirrors

All Pelican Sweepers
This Tech Tip is to inform all owners of Elgin Pelican Street Sweeper’s of the
importance of properly adjusted 6” convex mirrors.
The 6” convex mirrors must be correctly adjusted to give the operator clear view of any
and all obstacles and /or pedestrian in front of the sweeper prior to movement from both
driving directions.
ALWAYS REFER TO SAFETY SECTION IN OPERATORS MANUAL BEFORE STARTING WORK.
WARNING: Without correct mirror adjustment the operator may not be able to see directly in front of
machine, and operating with people in front of sweeper can cause severe injury or death
Procedure: Ensure that the front of machine is clear before and while moving forward.
Properly adjust front 6 inch round convex mirrors before operating and monitor
them for people outside of your direct field of view.
