Goresbrook Gazette Edition 2.26

The Goresbrook Gazette
22nd April 2016
Welcome message
Well done to those children who received attendance certificates this
afternoon. It was great to see Parents here to celebrate with us.
We hope you can all join us tonight at 4.45pm for tours of the building and
to receive information about what your children are learning this term,
and how best to support them at home.
Next Tuesday we will be holding our coffee morning at 8.45am—please do
come along if you can. We will be talking about initial ideas regarding our
summer fair 16th July 12-3pm.
Next Friday is our summer term ’Come Learn with Me’ for all Reception
and Year 1 parents. This is your chance to come into class and learn with
your children from 8.30-9.15am: please do stay if you can.
Volunteering Opportunity
We are currently looking for volunteers who are available every Monday,
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to listen to Yr 1 children read from
1.45pm—3pm. . We will carry out an enhanced DBS check and as soon as
this comes back you will be able to volunteer. This is a great opportunity
to support our children, and to gain experience in a school setting if you
are interested in career progression in this area. Please speak to Miss Harris if you are interested.
Communication
Following feedback letters such as chickenpox or head lice letters will now
be sent by email only to minimise on printing costs and wasted paper.
Please complete the correct email for yourself overleaf, tear off the slip
and hand in at reception so that we can check we have the correct details
on file.
Apologies if you have had trouble contacting us by phone recently, there
have been some technical difficulties since moving building, please bear
with us whilst we sort this.
Pink Form Feedback
As ever we are keen to get your feedback about what is working well and
what we need to improve as a school. We are currently writing our development plan for September, and are always very keen to gather parent
feedback. Please find a pink feedback form attached, for you to complete
and return to Miss Darley or the front office next week.
Parent voice is a key feature of Goresbrook School, and feedback in this
way have lead to significant improvements in the past including Home
Learning, uniform, trips, clubs and staffing. So please do take your time to
complete this.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Clare

absent.

you collect your child more than 10 minutes
