INTRODUCTION
This manual is an integral part of the dryer you bought, and must remain with the machine even if this will be resold.
It is strictly recommended that the qualified*personnel for installation maintenance and/or control will fully comply with
the contents of this manual and the prevention and safety rules in force in the country where the system will be used.
In this way, not only the usage of the machine will be rational, but also the service will result cost effective.
In case your dryer will present any kind of problem, please contact immediately a Service Centre Authorised by the
manufacturer.
Please note that, when necessary, the use of original spare parts will ensure efficiency and long duration to your dryer.
Due to the continuous technological evolution, the Manufacturer reserves the right to modify the specifications
contained in this manual without giving previous notice.

Each product is delivered regularly tested, and covered by the warranty conditions specified on the sale list and/or
on the supply contract.
SYMBOLS USED IN THE MANUAL AND ON THE DRYER
Read the Use and Maintenance manual before attempt to start up the machine and to
perform any service operation on the dryer.
Pay particular attention to the indications preceded by these symbols.
Installation, maintenance, and/or control operations preceded by these symbols must
be performed exclusively by qualified personnel*.

1. GENERAL INFORMATION
1.1 FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
Drying systems with refrigeration cycle have been designed for a cost effective elimination, with minimal overall
dimensions, of the condensate contained in compressed air by cooling it down to approximately + 3°C.
The operation principle of the dryers described in this manual is shown in the air and refrigeration circuit diagrams
(attachment A).
The air delivered to the services is virtually humidity free, and the condensate collected in the separator is discharged
through appropriate draining devices. In order to limit the size of the machine and to avoid condensation on the
external surface of the tubing, before exiting the dryer, treated air is counter current pre-heated by the air entering the
system.
The dryer comes provided with all the control, safety and adjustment devices, therefore no auxiliary
devices are needed.
A system overload not exceeding the maximum operative limits can worsen the operational performances of
the dryer (high dew point), but it will not affect its safety.
The electric diagram (attachment B) shows the minimum protection degree IP 42. The user must provide
the dryer with a line protection and a ground terminal.
1.2 USE OF THE MACHINE IN SAFE CONDITIONS
This system has been designed and manufactured in compliance with the European safety directive in force, therefore
any installation, use and maintenance operations must be performed respecting the instructions contained in this
manual.
Any installation, use and maintenance operation requiring to access the internal parts of the dryer must be
performed by qualified personnel.
The manufacturer will not be liable in case of uses different or nor complying with those foreseen in this
manual.
2. INSTALLATION
2.1 ACCEPTANCE AND TRANSPORTATION
At the moment the customer accepts the delivery, he must fully inspect the dryer to verify its integrity and the presence
of all the items listed in the shipping documentation.
Eventual claims for missing and/or damaged parts must be addressed directly to our facility or to the closest
reseller, within 8 (eight) days from the date on which the goods have been received.
It is mandatory to keep the dryer always in vertical position, as indicated by the symbols present on the packaging. For
eventual displacements, use devices having sufficient capacity for the weight of the machine.
Remove the packaging after having positioned the dryer in the installation site. We suggest to keep the original
packaging at list for the duration period of the warranty of the machine. Anyhow, do not forget to dispose the various
materials in compliance with the relevant rules locally in force.
If not in use, the dryer can be stored in its packaging in a dust free and protected site at a maximum temperature of 50
°C, and a specific humidity non exceeding the 90 %. Should the stocking time exceed 12 months, please contact the
manufacturer.

2.2 INSTALLATION SITE
While preparing a proper site for the installation of the dryer, please take into account the following
requirements
ƒ The machine must be protected from atmospheric agents and not directly exposed to sun light.
ƒ A seating base flat and capable to hold the weight of the machine.
ƒ Ambient temperature complying with the nominal data of the dryer.
ƒ A clean, dry and without forced draft (we suggest to blow the warm air outside the installation site).
ƒ Make sure to leave sufficient clearance around the dryer in order to allow an adequate cooling of
the machine and for maintenance and/or control operations.
The incoming air must be free from smoke or flammable vapours which could lead to explosion or fire
risks.

Before attempting any installation operation, make sure that

After having verified the points listed above, you can proceed to the installation of the machine.
1. Connect the dryer to the compressed air lines indicated in the diagrams below. If not already
existing, we suggest to install a by-pass allowing to insulate the machine from the plant, thus to
facilitate eventual maintenance operations.
2. Check the condensate drainage assembly, and connect the drain flexible hose to the draining line,
keeping in mind that the condensate separated by the dryer contains oil particles, therefore,
in order to dispose it in compliance with the local rules in force, we suggest a water-oil
separator having adequate capacity.
3. Power the dryer after having checked that the nominal voltage and line frequency are constant
and matching the nominal values of the machine. The user must provide the installation with
an adequate line protection and a ground terminal complying with the electrical rules
locally in force.

In order to optimise the use of the dryer, we suggest to place it in such a way that all the control
instruments of the machine will result easily visible.
Installing a ceramic pre-filter on the air inlet of the dryer, this will be better protected from eventual solid
particles, as it prevents the accumulation of oily materials on the heath exchangers.

3. START UP
3.1 CONTROL PANEL
The machines belonging to this series are provided with an electronic system for parameters modification, so eventual
reset operations can be performed by means of the digital panel located on the front of the dryer.
The control panel is composed of 5 keys (ON/OFF, TEST, SET, DOWN e UP) and a 3 digit display, with three
signalling LEDs shown as DP1, DP2 and DP3.
Under normal operating conditions the display controller shows the temperature read by the probe without decimal
degrees. When an alarm condition occurs, the display shows the relevant alarm code.

3.1.1 KEYS FUNCTION
TEST: Pushed for 3 sec. during normal operation, it allows to activate a condensate drainage cycle.
SET: When pushed and released during normal operation, it displays the set-point value (decimal).
When pushed for 10 seconds, it allows to enter the C8 and C9 condensate drain parameters programming
menu (see relevant table).
When pushed after having set new configuration values, it stores the applied modifications.
DOWN: When pushed while setting the set point or the configuration parameters, it decreases the displayed
value of one unit per second, during the first 10 seconds, than of one unit every 0,1 sec.
When pushed for 10 seconds during normal operation, it starts an automatic test cycle of the controller.
UP: When pushed while setting the set point or the configuration parameters, it increases the displayed value
of one unit per second, during the first 10 seconds, than of one unit every 0,1 sec.
ON / OFF: Pushed for 1 second, it activates or deactivates the process. When the process is deactivated, the
display shows OFF.
NOTE: when the controller is in OFF position, some parts of the dryer are kept under tension therefore, for
safety purposes, disconnect the electrical power before performing any operation on the machine.
3.1.2 CONDENSATE DISCHARGE PARAMETERS PROGRAMMING
Push the SET key for 10 seconds to enter the parameters configuration menu: the display will show in
sequence the set point value, the code of the first modifiable parameter (C8) and its value).
Only if strictly necessary, use the UP and/or DOWN keys to change the displayed parameter value.
Press the SET key to store the previously changed parameter value or to browse the parameters
without changing them.
15 seconds after the last performed operation, the controller will return automatically to the normal
operation mode.

NOTE: Changes entered for timing values will be effective only after exiting the programming, while changes

3.1.4
REMOTE SIGNALING ALARM
The dryer control board is equipped with a digital output for the remote signalling alarm. This
digital output is controlled by a relays configured as normally open: when an alarm is
detected, this relays closes a circuit.
Proceed as follows to activate a remote alarm output:
1. The User must provide a signaller in compliance with output relays electrical features
(solenoid coil, light bulb, acoustic signaller, ...).
2. Disconnect the dryer from electrical power supply, remove cover and left side panel.
3. Connect the signaller to the terminal blocks (See PIC.3).

The activation of the above function is on User’s discretion. The User will purchase all necessary
installation material by himself. Any operation which needs access to the dryer must be carried out
by qualified personnel.

3.2 BEFORE START UP
Before starting the machine, make sure that all operating parameters correspond to the nominal data.
The dryer is supplied already tested and preset for normal operation, and it doesn’t require any calibration.
Nevertheless, it’s necessary to check the operating performances during the first working hours.
3.3 START UP
The operations specified below must be performed after the first start up and at each start up after a
prolonged inactive period of time due to maintenance operations, or any other reason.
1. Make sure that all instructions contained in chapters INSTALLATION SITE and INSTALLATION
have been respected.
2. Check if by-pass is locked properly (if existent).
3. Activate current supply and press the ON/OFF switch on the control panel for at least 1 second.
Only on Mod. 400 ÷ 600
- Turn main power switch on position 1.
- Wait for 8 hours before starting the dryer
(the warranty is not valid if this procedure is not respected).
4. Wait 5 to 10 minutes until machine has achieved its standard operating parameters.
5. Slowly open the air outlet valve and successively open the air inlet valve.
6. If existent, close the by-pass.
7. Check if the condensate drainer is working properly.
8. Check if all connecting pipes are properly tightened and fixed.
Before disconnecting the dryer from electrical power supply, use ON/OFF key to stop the dryer.
Otherwise wait 10 minutes before switching the dryer on again, in order to allow freon pressure rebalance.
4. MAINTENANCE, TROUBLESHOOTING AND DISMANTLING
4.1 MAINTENANCE
Before attempting any maintenance operation, make sure that:
1. No parts of the system is under pressure.
2. No parts of the system is electrically powered.
Î WEEKLY OR EVERY 40 HOURS OF OPERATION
ƒ Verify the temperature on the control panel display.
ƒ visually check if the condensate is drained regularly.
Î MONTHLY OR EVERY 200 HOURS OF OPERATION
ƒ Clean the condenser with a compressed air jet, taking care not to damage the cooling battery
aluminium wings.
ƒ At the end of the above mentioned operations, check if the dryer is working properly.
Î YEARLY OR EVERY 2000 HOURS OF OPERATION
ƒ Check if the flexible tube used for condensate drainage is damaged and replace it if necessary.
ƒ Check if all connecting pipes are properly tightened and fixed.
ƒ At the end of the above mentioned operations, check if the dryer is working properly.
Î EVERY 24 MONTHS OR EVERY 4000 HOURS OF OPERATION (Mod. 400 ÷ 600)
ƒ Replace the fan pressure switch.
4.2 TROUBLESHOOTING
NOTE: FOLLOWING BEHAVIORS ARE NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC OF OPERATION AND NOT TROUBLES

• Variable speed of the fan.

IMPORTANT:
The temperature control probe is extremely delicate. Do not remove the probe from its position. In
case of any kind of problem, please contact your “Service Centre”

4.3 DISMANTLING
In case of necessity, dismantle the machine and the relevant packaging in compliance with the
rules locally in force.
Pay particular attention to the refrigerant, as it contains part of the refrigerating compressor
lubricating oil.
Always contact a waste disposal and recycling facility.

- DV systems One Year Limited Refrigerated Air Dryer Warranty The manufacturer warrants the product manufactured by it and sold to the original purchaser, when properly installed, operated,
applied and maintained in accordance with procedures and recommendations outlined in the manufacturer’s instruction manuals,
to be free of defects in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from date of purchase at the retail level by the end
user, not to exceed eighteen (18) months from the date of manufacture, provided such defect is discovered and brought to the
manufacturers attention within the aforesaid warranty period.
The manufacturer will repair or replace any product or part determined to be defective by the manufacturer within the warranty
period, provided such defect occurred in normal service and not as the result of misapplication, misuse, abuse, neglect, incorrect
maintenance, accident, or normal wear. Normal maintenance items requiring routine replacement are not warranted.
The warranty covers parts and labour for the warranty period. Repair or replacement shall be made at the sole option of the
manufacturer. Any service performed on the product by anyone other than the manufacturer must first be authorized by the
manufacturer. Unauthorized service voids the warranty and any resulting charge or subsequent claim will not be paid.
Products repaired or replaced under warranty shall be warranted for the unexpired portion of the warranty applying to the original
product, based on the original date of purchase and/or date of manufacture, as outlined above.
Exported items (those shipped beyond the continental Canada/US) deemed defective and to be returned to DV systems for
Warranty consideration are to be forwarded at the Customers expense to a DV systems designated location on the continental
Canada/US (excluding Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico).
There is no other expressed warranty. Implied warranties including those of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose
are limited to one (1) year from date of purchase to the extent permitted by law and any and all implied warranties are excluded.
This is the exclusive remedy. Liability for consequential damages under any and all warranties are excluded to the extent
exclusion is permitted by law.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights within your jurisdiction.
This warranty does not cover:
1. Merchandise that has become inoperative because of ordinary wear, misuse, negligence, accident, or improper and
unauthorized repair or alteration.
2. Costs occasioned by the removal, replacement, or repair of merchandise (other than by DV systems) without previous
authorization from DV systems.
3. Expenses incurred in travel or lodging beyond a 100 kilometre (60 mile) distance from the nearest DV systems Authorized
Service Centre.
4. Expenses incurred in the return of equipment for inspection purposes to the manufacturers facility. All returns must be preauthorized, returned ‘Freight Prepaid’, and accompanied by a ‘Return Authorization (RA) Number’.
5. Products, parts, materials, components, or accessories manufactured by others or supplied in connection with the sale of
the manufacturers products.
6. Repair and transportation costs of merchandise determined not to be defective under the terms and conditions of this
warranty.
7. The cost of rental or loaner equipment while the customers original equipment is being assessed, repaired, or replaced.
8. Consequential damages in the event of product failure.
All decisions by DV systems Inc. with regard to this policy shall be final. DV systems will not be responsible for any claimed
defective materials returned other than in accordance with this statement of policy or without our prior authorization.
