Splash Parties - Pool is available most Fridays to host birthday parties and special events. Contact the Community Education Office for more information. 694-3411
Our pool is 25 yards long and 6 lanes wide, with depths ranging from 42” to 13 feet. It is maintained between 82-84 degrees, and
there are ease-in steps for more convenient access. A one-meter diving board may be used by deep-end swimmers upon request
and lifeguard approval. Pool rules are posted on the pool deck and in both locker rooms. Shoes must be removed before entering the
pool deck; showers are required before entering water. NO food, gum, drink or candy allowed on pool deck or in pool. Participants
who wear diapers and/or swim diapers MUST also wear waterproof pants over the diaper. Children 6 or older must use same gender
locker rooms; family changing areas are available. All aquatics staff are Lifeguard certified. Aquatics coordinator: Aquatics office

Aqua Exercise
Come join in on the fun at our “liquid gym.” Water provides
afluidlydynamicenvironmentinwhichtoexercisewithless
biomechanical stress. No pre-registration required.
LAP SWIM—Experience the pleasure of uninterrupted
swimming in a relaxed atmosphere. Lanes set up as long as it
does not interfere w/swim lessons or aerobic classes. Pay at the
door (bring correct change). One-hour session. $3 per visit or
$25 for 10 visit punch card.
INDIVIDUAL WORKOUT—This is an open time to come and
work out the way you want. You can work as hard or as easy as
you would like. This is a non-instructional time and is available
in the shallow end of the pool. This is a great way to get started
in our liquid gym! Pay at the door (bring correct change).
45-minute session is $2 per visit or $25 for 10 visit punch card.

GUPPIES – Guppies class teaches kids independence and
listening skills while in the water. This class is taught on a
platform to help our little swimmers stay above the water. Skills

more! (Ages 3 – 5 years)
Holt Community Pool Swim Lessons
Our lessons focus on safety and stroke development for all
ages, and prepare the participants for competitive swimming
after completion of all levels. Our lesson plan is designed to
be fun for each participant while challenging them to become
exceptional swimmers.
SWIM LESSON REGISTRATION DEADLINES – Online
registrations will be closed two business days before the class
begins.Allotherregistrationswillbeclosedby12:00noon
one business day before the class begins. There will be NO
late additions to classes.
TADPOLES – Acclimate your child to the water life at a
young age with our Tadpole class. In this course, participants
will learn the basics of swimming as well as safety for both
participantandparent.Skillscoveredinclude:entering/exiting
water with and without support in a safe manner, blowing
bubbles,gettingfaceswet,floating,kickingonbacksand
bellies, scooping, submerging and much more! (Ages 6
months – 3 years). An adult must accompany child in the pool.

EELS – Our Eels class further develops swimmers’ listening
skills as well as their independent swimming skills. In this
class participants will be holding onto the wall so listening is

partan Swim Club is a Parent Board run, USA Swimming team. We
provide a fun, safe, and educational environment for swimmers of
all ages and abilities. Practicing out of Holt High School, we are
the premiere Holt community swimming resource, providing you
with a well educated and professionally trained, USA Swimming Certified
Coaching Staff, with sessions available during the Fall, Winter, Spring, and
Summer.
Swimming is not only a fun, social activity with great health benefits,
but it also provides our members with confidence and a life long (and
necessary) skill in water safety.
Fun Fact: Did you know that the LSJ girls swimming dream team had 4
of the 12 girls swim for Spartan, including the swimmer of the year?

SENIOR CITIZENS
ADULT SPECIAL INTEREST CLASSES—Senior citizens are
invited to attend most special interest classes at reduced rates.
Seniors will need to pay for special materials or books, if
required, for a particular class.
HOLT SENIOR CITIZENS—The Sam Corey Senior Citizens
Club is an active group of people who meet at the Sam Corey
Senior Citizens Center, 2108 Cedar St. The center is open
Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and has activities daily.
To view the schedule please visit the parks and recreation
department website at www.delhitownship.com. If you are at
least 55 years of age, we welcome you to become part of our
group. For more information please contact the Senior Center
at 268-0096.
SENIOR CITIZEN ACTIVITY PASS—All Holt Public School
district residents 55 years and older may receive a senior
citizen activity pass. The pass may allow the holder to attend
concerts, programs, plays, etc. put on by the schools; and
all home athletic contests (excludes play-off games) free
of charge or at a reduced rate. These rates apply to current
passholders as well. To receive a senior citizen activity pass,
bring proof of residency and age to Community Education at
Midway Early Learning Center, 4552 Spahr Ave., Holt.
SENIOR CITIZEN NUTRITION PROGRAM—All senior
citizens 60 years of age or older are invited to attend weekly
Wednesday luncheons at the Sam Corey Senior Center at
2108 Cedar St., Holt, MI. For a $3.00 suggested donation, the
nutrition program features a delicious meal and presentations,
activities, or entertainment. Reservations must be made by
Tuesday at 12 noon by calling Addie Mutch at 694-0036.

Participants must be 18 years of age or older to enroll in adult enrichment classes.

Microsoft Word terminology, how the program works, the

a new machine recently or need to refresh your memory

do basic projects and simple garment sewing? Learn how to

The 3- and 4-year-old preschool programs feature a wide
variety of fun and educational experiences especially
designed for the uniqueness of the 3- and 4-year-old child.
The environment is warm, secure, and accepting. Children
are challenged to explore the world around them, to express
themselves, and to interact with others. The 3-year-old
preschool program is tuition based while both free (GSRP)
and tuition-based options are available for 4-year-olds.

GSRP is a state-funded Kindergarten Readiness Preschool

CLASS CANCELLATION PROCESS
Most classes require a minimum number of participants in order
to be held. If we cancel a class due to low enrollment, we will
contactyouwithin24hoursofthefirstclassandarefundwill
be issued to you. All Community Education classes/activities
are cancelled when school is closed due to inclement weather.
Classes will be rescheduled when possible. All activity sites and
times are subject to change as school activities take priority.

refund. A 50 percent refund will be given if requested prior to

the case of a one-day workshop, no refunds are given after the

VALHALLA BEACHFRONT
The swimming season at Valhalla Park is
Memorial Day – Labor Day. Swimming is
at your own risk during posted hours.

All Senior Citizens 55 years of age or
older are invited to attend weekly
Wednesday luncheons at the Sam Corey

For a $3.00 suggested donation, the
nutrition program features a delicious meal
and presentations, activities, or
entertainment. Reservations must be made
