CELEBRATE PUFFIN’S 45TH BIRTHDAY WITH A SPECIAL CHILDREN’S TEA PARTY

Join a very special birthday party as Puffin Post magazine turns an impressive 45
years old! On Saturday 20 October, author Andy Stanton (Mr Gum) and illustrator
Emma Dodd (Dot and Dash) will host a tea party at the Radisson Blu Edwardian,
Guildford complete with activities, books, balloons, cake and an appearance by
Puffin himself.
Running concurrently, Emma Dodd will bring her stories to life through drawings to
entrance younger guests (suitable for ages three upwards) whilst older children
(ages eight upwards) will delight in Andy Stanton’s tales of Polly and Jake and
friends as they try to stop Mr Gum’s evil plots.
At the conclusion of these two events, all the children will be invited to join a tea
party hosted by Puffin himself and there will be prizes and goodies galore for
everyone.
The Puffin anniversary party forms part of the Guildford Book Festival, one of the UK’s
leading provincial literary events. The events take place at the Radisson Blu
Edwardian, Guildford which is located on Alexandra Terrace at the top of the high
street. With Deluxe Room rates starting at just £125 and no charge for an additional
child’s bed, this is an ideal opportunity to combine a half term treat with an
indulgent break in one of Surrey’s most historic and vibrant towns. Guildford’s literary
connections run deep and it is here that Lewis Carroll, who inspired the hotel’s

Tickets cost £6 for the Andy Stanton event and £5 to the Emma Dodd event,
