This forms a narrow band of violent storms. Warm Front Warm air slides over cool air that is leaving. This forms feathery clouds. There may also be light showers. Occluded Front Two cool air masses meet and push up warmer air. This causes strong winds and heavy precipitation. Stationary Front A cool air mass and a warm air mass meet and stop moving (neither one advances). This causes a few days of light rain(drizzle) and windy weather.
