Edit - paste 7. zoom to view all and resize card to fit 8. click on icon to add a layer mask 9. draw a square marquee inside card border 10. set feather to 30px – refine edge – set all controls to 0 11. select white paintbrush – rubber – rub out all middle 12. new adjustment layer- black & white – auto – OK 13. click mask icon – select white paintbrush and paint over car (called colour popping) 14. swap over the two layers to show the effect of the order on the card border 8 9 Image 5 - montage 1. File - scripts - load files into stack 2. With move tool - move levers to bottom left and shrink down 3. Select Rectangular Marquee – accept 4. With move tool, move driving wheel image to top left 5. With hand tool - select train and move it to the third from top in stack 6. Move tool - select and move train to top left - resize 7. Take royal train to top of stack 8. Use magic wand to select white area 9. Select rubber and delete white to transparent 10. Select move tool – shrink and move to bottom left 11. Select marquee tool 12. With move tool select Jack, upscale and move to centre just above horizontal 13. Select levers – with rectangular marquee tool, draw area inside picture 14. Select – inverse 15. Filter - blur - Gaussian Blur - set to 45 pixels - ok 16. With Rectangular tool - feathers set at 50 pixels – draw box inside 17. Select - Inverse 18. Filter – Blur - Gaussian blur - set to 65 pixels – ok 19. Select top left train - with rectangular marquee tool – draw an area inside picture 10 20. Select inverse 21. Filter – blur – Gaussian Blur – set to 80 pixels – ok 11 12 13 Image 6 – age photo 1. Open small original 2. Copy background layer 3. Select it – deselect original 4. Select All 5. Marque tool – select subtract - draw around picture 6. Select rubber and go around picture 7. Open ‘old frame.jpg’ 8. Select all 9. Edit – copy – close image 10. Edit - paste into car picture 11. Select ‘Screen’ from drop down, now ‘Normal’ 12. Layer - new adjustment layer – black and white 13. Select Auto 14. Layer - new fill layer - gradient 14 15 Practice pictures Try to make the combined picture look as though the helicopter look as though it really has landed.
