hostingthe3rdAnnualCheetahRun5k/1konSaturday,February25.Runnersandwalkersare
invitedtopartakeinthisfunanduniqueraceheldongroundsatTheLivingDesert.
TheCheetahRunisarareopportunitytoracethroughtheparkandenjoyallthemanysightsand
soundsithastooffer.RunnerswillenjoyBighornsheepmeanderingalongthemountainside,as
wellaszebras,camelsandcheetahsenjoyingtheirsurroundings.
“Thecourseisbothbeautifulandchallengingwithacombinationofpavementandtrailrunning,”
saidDawnPetrick,DirectorofParkServices.“ThisracefitsperfectlywithourYearoftheCheetah
themeandweencourageeveryonetojoinusforthefun.”
RunnerswillreceivefreeentrancetoTheLivingDesertonthedayoftherun,acommemorativetshirt,cheetahfinishermedal,pre-andpost-racerefreshments,andanawardsceremonyforthetop
threewinnersineachagegroup.TheCheetahRunisasanctionedraceproducedbyKlein/Clark
Sports.AllproceedsfromtheracewillbenefitTheLivingDesert’seducationandconservation
programming.
Registrationopensat6:30a.m.withthe5kracebeginningpromptlyat7:30a.m.The5kentryfeeis
$35for13yearsandolder;$25forrunners3–12years.The1kbeginsat8:30amwithanentryfee
