ith soccer games
being played by
kids of all ages
right down the hall from
the NWT Soccer Association's silent auction in the
main foyer of the Fieldhouse on Saturday, everyone
seemed to be in the mood to
give a little and help the 46
boys and girls on Western
Canada Summer Games
teams.
The association held the
auction which had about 30
items to bid on, including
heating fuel, flights, toys and
gift certificates.
The event took place to
raise money to cover costs
for the teams to help them

Games which take place in Kamloops, B.C., in August.

travel to Saskatoon, Sask., in
May to participate in a Western Canada Games training
camp and also to Kamloops,
BC in August for the games
themselves.
According to Ryan Fequet,
president of the association,
there are 46 players in the
program.
"The money raised gets
split between all the kids," he
said. "The whole cost of the
program – all the gear, all the
camps up to that point – is
about $2,000 a kid. We fundraise and this is probably the
biggest event."
The silent auction, which
ran from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.
on Saturday, raised more than
$4,000.
