shadows are designed in custom shades
that most closely match the natural shadows
created by facial feature dimension.
Step 1:
Apply your contour shade (should be
3-4 shades darker than your skin color)
to the areas on the chart where you see
brown. This contour shadow absorbs
light and makes areas appear smaller.
Step 2:
Apply your highlighting shade (white
matte or shimmer) to the areas where
you see white on the chart. This attracts
light and makes areas more prominent.
Step 3:
Look slimmer instantly!

Detailed Tips
• Always use a matte shade for
contouring! If you try to hide a double
chin by using a contour shade that has
shimmer in it (like a shimmer bronzer for
example), it will attract light and can
actually make that area appear bigger!
• Use a firm brush (see examples
below) to apply the shadows. The key is
to really buff them in and blend, blend,
blend!

• For the appearance of a slimmer,
straighter nose use a brush no bigger
than the width of your pinky finger.
A light line of highlighter down the
center creates the illusion of a
straighter nose.
• Apply your contour shade straight
down each side of your nose. This
creates the natural shadow and
appearance of a straighter, narrower
bridge.
• Follow by applying a thin line of
highlighter straight down the center of
your nose between the two contour
lines you just created. This subtly
attracts light to the straight line,
creating the illusion of a straighter nose.

• To bring out the appearance of your
cheekbones and reduce the look of
fullness in your cheeks use a buffer
brush to apply your contour shadow
directly under the entire length of your
cheekbones.
Highlighting directly along
and on top of your
actual cheekbones
makes them appear
more prominent.

Contour shadow under the entire
length of cheekbones makes the
entire area appear more slender.
• Use a buffer or buki brush to apply
contour shadow (3-4 shades darker
than your skin color) under your entire
chin, stopping just below your jaw line.
• The highlighter attracts light making
the cheekbones appear more
prominent.
By contouring both the forehead
and double chin, each model
appears quite a bit slimmer in
the after picture vs. the before
picture.
• The contour shadow absorbs light
creating the illusion of depth and a
decrease in size!
• This makes your double chin appear
much smaller and much less noticeable.
It will also make you look 5-10 pounds
thinner instantly!

• Follow by dusting on your highlighting
shade directly on top of the entire
length of your actual cheekbones.

outside perimeter and sides of your
forehead, from your hairline and in
about 1-3 inches (depending on
forehead size).
