Jallianwala Bagh Massacre The massacre of innocent people on General Dyer’s orders led to Non Cooperation Movement in 1920 was the first big movement led by Gandhiji and was the beginning of Gandhian phase of freedom struggle. The Non Cooperation Movement aimed at attaining freedom by peaceful means. But the movement turned violent in Chauri chaura and was withdrawn. The country was divided into two parts-India and Pakistan. A new constitution was framed and India had its own government.
