Informative Speech PowerPoint Presentation General Guidelines: 1. You will need at least 8 slides – one title slide, two slides for each main point and one blank slide at the end. The title slide should have the title of your speech, your name, the date, and the period. 2. Keep your words large enough to be read by your audience – at least 24 point font. 3. “Rule of Six” – no more than 6 words per bullet, no more than 6 bullets per slide. 4. You will need to animate your slides – the text should appear when you are speaking about that particular piece of information and not beforehand. 5. Choose fonts and color combinations that are easy to read – no matter how cool it looks, if we can’t read it, it is not an effective PowerPoint. KEEP IT CONSISTENT 6. Proofread and spellcheck!
