Simpson University's Church Match Scholarship is intended to encourage churches to support students from their congregations who are pursuing
Christian higher education. The awarding of this scholarship is based on need, availability of funds, and the guidelines listed on the back of this
form. Both the student and the church are responsible for reading and following the scholarship guidelines.
INCOMPLETE OR UNSIGNED forms will NOT be accepted. Unsigned forms will be returned unprocessed.

Church Match Scholarship Guidelines
Deadlines:
Fall Semester: September 15th
Spring Semester: January 15th
Application Process
a Students who are U.S. Citizens or permanent residents must file a FAFSA. International students do not need to
file a FAFSA.
a Eligibility for the Church Match Scholarship will be determined after the student's financial aid file has been
completed and reviewed.
a Completed applications and checks are due by the scholarship deadline.
a Applications and checks must be turned in together (only checks from a church will be matched).
a Applications are considered in the order that they are received, as long as funds are available. Funds are limited
and will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis.
Scholarship Terms
a Students must demonstrate need as determined by federal methodology. The scholarship will be coordinated with
other need based financial aid.
a The Church Match Scholarship is available to Undergraduate students only.
a Simpson will match donations up to $2,500 per year. The Simpson portion of the matching scholarship will be split
evenly between fall and spring semesters. A maximum matching scholarship of $1,250 per semester can be
received.
a Students who do not attend both semesters receive a match only for the semester they attend.

*If a student is also receiving the Christian & Missionary Alliance scholarship, the total $2,500 match from Simpson University will be
a combination of the Christian & Missionary scholarship and the Church Match scholarship.
a The scholarship may only be applied towards on-campus tuition, class fees, room, and board.
a If funds received from the church are not designated to apply to a particular term, then they will be split evenly across
all terms of the students intended enrollment for the current academic year.
Church Donation Eligibility
a The church may not submit funds from wages, internships, or gifts from individuals to a specific student for the Church
Match Scholarship.
a For the purposes of this scholarship, a "church" is understood as a congregation holding weekly services/meetings.
Donations form other non-profit organizations will not be matched.
a Only one church check per semester will be matched. Subsequent checks will be applied to the student's account
without a match.
Extensions or exceptions to these guidelines will not be granted. Please contact Student Financial Services with questions.
