PRESERVING AND PROTECTING
Virginia’s Beauty
IS A JOB FOR ALL OF US
While you let Amtrak whisk you through a delightful
kaleidoscope of urban and rural Virginia landscapes, pause to
consider how you’re doing your part to minimize the impact
on these environments. On average, an Amtrak train carries twice
as many passengers as a domestic airline flight – and that train
uses 20 percent less energy per passenger mile than that flight

THE STATE FOR
LOVERS JUST GOT
A NEW COUPLE
NEW SERVICE FROM LYNCHBURG
STARTING OCTOBER 1ST
NEW SERVICE FROM RICHMOND
STARTING DECEMBER 15TH
You’ll fall for two new Amtrak Northeast Regional SM trains
that provide direct service between central Virginia and
the Northeast Corridor. Amtrak® Virginia offers a one-seat
ride to nearly 30 stations as far north as Boston and
as far south as Lynchburg and Richmond with stops in
Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, New York and more.
New daily roundtrip service starts from Lynchburg for the
first time on October 1st, and on December 15th, hourly
morning service will be available between Richmond and
the Northeast Corridor. From the Blue Ridge Mountains
in Lynchburg to historic Richmond – and the two new
Northeast Corridor trains to take you there – Amtrak offers
many more reasons to love Virginia.
