Small Schools Swimming Carnival: Wednesday 3rd December
Our annual carnival is being held on Wednesday 3rd December at
the Kingaroy Pool. This is a whole day small schools event where
every child is given the opportunity to participate. This is the
school curriculum focus for the day, so all students are expected
to participate.
The school pays for student entry. It is up to families to arrange
transport for students to and from the pool. Sometimes parents
get together and share transport, depending on work or other
commitments. Non-school students are not permitted to use
facilities on the day. The wading pool is only used for student
events. Toddlers are not permitted to use this pool.
All students are expected to attend and participate. These
events are a wonderful chance for students to develop and share
school spirit and pride. All students will receive ribbons and earn
points for the school.
Reminders
 No admission fee  Transport – We ask families to arrange own transport.
Families often help each other out - car pool etc.
 All students are to be at the pool by 8.40am for a 9.00am
start. Please be punctual.
 War cry at 9.00am sharp.
Coolabunia is the best
We shall overpower the rest
Till the mighty cup we hold
Coolabunia green and gold
COOLABUNIA
Coolabunia Yeh!
 There will be a school area in the grandstand. Students
must stay in this area, unless competing. Students are not to
run about.
 Mrs Kleinhanss and Mrs Ritchie will be supervising in
the school area.
 Students will need to wear a shirt, hat and sunscreen
when not swimming. Swim shirts are ideal.
 Parents are asked to keep an eye out for all other students.
This makes a big difference.
 Presentations will be at approx. 2.30pm
 Order of events – 50m, 25m, 15m widths (wading pool
events operating as well), then this sequence repeats.
Relays complete carnival.
 All width, 25m and 50m swimmers will be needed for relays.
Please do not leave.

Prep / Year 1 Excursion
20th November 2014
Queensland Museum and Sciencentre (Southbank)
Morning and afternoon tea at
Cormorant Bay, Wivenhoe Dam
Preps and Year 1s had a fantastic
day on their recent excursion to
Brisbane. At the Sciencentre
they became Secret Agents as
they searched for a suspect in a
crime. As an agent, they tried to
dodge laser beams without
setting off alarms and explored
codes. Some activities in the
Bodyzone, included students
walking a tunnel that made them
feel wonky, running 10m on a
track to beat Heath and hopping
on a bike to ride with Boney the
skeleton.
A very big ‘Thank you’ to our
wonderful parent helpers (Ms
McDonald, Mr Brackin, Mr
Town, Mr Kleinhanss,
Mrs Taylor and Mrs Douglas).
We would also like to extend
our thanks to the P&C for their
generous support.
In the Showzone, students learnt
about the different sizes of
planets. They also learnt that
for every action there is a
reaction. A walk through the
museum gave students the
opportunity to explore the world
through the Discovery centre (a
splendid collection of fossils,
animals and objects), the Coral
coast and lost creatures.
Students also walked to
Southbank for a yummy ice
cream and had a quick walk
around Streets Beach in the
parklands.
