WHY FISH WITH US
W
hat started as a family business, with one lodge near one river,
has blossomed into a company renowned for revolutionizing the
way fly anglers view fishing travel. In 1984 it all began with Kau Tapen on
the Río Grande… and a vision of just how good a lodge could be. More
than 30 years later, we’ve gone on to define the realm of high-end fishing
experiences worldwide, with the largest luxury lodge portfolio in the business—and with distinguished sister operations in wingshooting.
Expectations continue to evolve and Nervous Waters strives to be on the
leading edge, constantly retooling and rethinking the modern sporting
lodge with a focus on what’s important to anglers. By carefully aligning
operations with guests’ needs, we’ve achieved remarkably high return
rates. Here’s why:
§§ A cadre of unique and stylish lodges, each independent but drawing
from the integrity of the larger structure.
§§ Each lodge strategically located to pinpoint and access the very best
fisheries.
§§ Fine, hotel-style amenities, with chefs and professional staff that
understand fishing and creature comforts equally.
§§ Trained guides and managers that are on time and on task; details
and service are finely tuned for anglers.
§§ A commitment to the very best in vehicles, boats, gear, and all things
fishing.
§§ A 24-hour concierge service for clients.
§§ 5 star amenities, à la carte menus, best wines, spa services, and
attention to detail that goes above and beyond…
§§ A vision to the future, protecting our resources for generations to
come via catch-and-release and numerous research projects.
§§ Our focus is always on the guest. Those that return again and again
are paying us the highest compliment.
Nervous Waters . . . the perfect combination of
sporting excellence with the highest level of service.

DELTA FISHING TRIPS
buenos aires, argentina
T
he Delta Fishing Trips is a new program located near Buenos
Aires that will please serious anglers and business travelers
alike: a lodge deeply submerged in nature but only minutes away
from the city—offering the kinds of high-quality fishing, guiding,
lodging and dining experiences only Nervous Waters can provide.
The Paraná River, one of the most remarkable watersheds in South
America, develops into an incredible ecosystem at the end of its
run into the Rio de la Plata, just outside of greater Buenos Aires.
Known as the Delta, this endless labyrinth of streams, braids, sidechannels, bays, and islands brims with wildlife and beautiful dorado
waters. This UNESCO designated “Biosphere Reserve” is also a bird
watcher’s paradise. Here you’ll find the Delta Fishing Lodge, where
our guided fly fishing programs take place.
We offer two options in this unique area:
For those who must stay in Buenos Aires for a day/night before
heading to a fishing lodge elsewhere in the country, there is the day
trip program. A private car will pick you up at your hotel and in just
35 minutes you’ll be on board a custom made skiff—ready to go
after dorado and tarariras with fly tackle.
And for those willing to spend 1 or 2 more days, we’ve developed
an exciting new lodge in the secluded islands surrounded by almost
unexplored wild life.

THE FISHING
T
he freshwater Dorado is a hard
fighting and acrobatic fish known for
its strong runs and relentless jumps. Other
exciting specie that you will encounter in
the Paraná Delta is the Tararira, a natural
predator that seeks its preys camouflaged
with the surroundings and close to the
coasts.
Fishing Equipment:
§§ Loaner tackle is available for rent.
§§ Rods: 7-weight rods paired with
tropical floating lines and wire bite
tippet (20#).
§§ Flies: the classic Dorado flies you see
all over in the web, and streamers,
which include surface flies such as
poppers. They work perfectly for
Tarariras, too.
§§ Clothing: we recommend flats style
clothing: light, long-sleeve shirts and
pants. Rain gear is also a good idea,
just in case.
§§ Miscellaneous: pack a pair of
binoculars. The area is a birdwatcher’s
paradise.
