BY AIR
The nearest airport is VENICE AIRPORT "Marco Polo" at Tessera (Venezia), 40 Km from
Padova (Padua). From the Airport there are frequent bus connections to Padova Bus station
(FSBusItalia), about every 60 minutes. You can check the timetable here (insert "VENEZIA
AEROPORTO MARCO POLO TESSERA" in the "Fermate di Partenza" field and "Padova Staz.
FS" or "PADOVA AUTOSTAZIONE" in the "Fermate di arrivo" field).
The ticket costs 8,50 € (10€ if bought on board) and can be bought at the ticket office
located in the arrival hall or at vending machines at the bus stops; the bus stop is located
outside the arrivals hall; the travel time is 1 hour and 10 minutes; get off at "Padova
Autostazione".
Participants arriving at Venice Airport can also book a private shuttle services from the
Airport to Padova centre or Legnaro Laboratories. The cost per transfer ranges from 28€ to
35€. The cost increases for night arrivals/departures. Reservations must be made at least 24
hours in advance (please note that 1 May is bank holiday in Italy).

BY TRAIN
Padova is at the crossroad of the Venezia-Milano and Venezia-Roma railways: many trains
are available. Ticket can be purchased at the train station or on
http://www.trenitalia.com/tcom-en.
The ride lasts 30 minutes from Venezia, 2 or 3 hours from Milano and 4 to 6 hours from
Roma depending on the train selected. From Padova Railway Station you have then to reach
Padova Bus Station (Autostazione) for catching a bus to Legnaro (see below). Please note
that the railway station and the bus station (Autostazione) are at walking distance (the bus
station "Autostazione" is on the left leaving the railway station).

BY BUS FROM PADOVA to LEGNARO
There is a regular bus service from Padova to Legnaro. The bus station is just outside the
railway station (leaving the railway station, turn on the left). The buses leave every 30
minutes and arrive just in front of the Laboratories (bus stop upon request). The bus takes
about 25 minutes to reach Legnaro. You can check the timetable here (insert "PADOVA
AUTOSTAZIONE" in the "Fermate di Partenza" field and "AGRIPOLIS" or "SOTTOMARINA” or
“LEGNARO" in the "Fermate di arrivo" field). Tickets can be bought at the station (or on
board at a higher price).
BY CAR
Padova can be reached by car on the A4 Milano-Venezia Motorway or on the A13 BolognaPadova Motorway, exit “Padova Est” (direction: Legnaro-Chioggia-Piove di Sacco).
ATTENTION: in Padua city centre there is a ZTL zone, an area in which car traffic is
restricted. From 8 am to 8 pm no car traffic can enter the central streets, unless the car has
a special permit allowing it. Special signs indicate the ZTL zone.

Kindly note that 1 May (International Workers' Day) is a national/bank holiday in Italy, most
services are reduced or unavailable. If you are arriving that day, please make sure you plan your
transfer well in advance.
WORKSHOP TRANSFER
Free transfer service from Padova centre to LNL and back on 2-3-4 May
A free transfer service is organised for the workshop participants on 2-3-4 May from Padova
centre (see below pick-up points) to Laboratori Nazionali di Legnaro and back. Since the bus
can stop only for a few seconds, participants are kindly recommended to be on time at the
pick-up points (see bus schedule below). The bus will have a visible sign.
Should you miss the bus, please, be informed that regular buses connect Padova to Legnaro
