Listening
Pupils should:
•  Revise the vocabulary from their folder.
•  Log on to viva active learn:
To listen to the vocabulary and to re do the
listening exercises done in class.
•  All pupils have transcripts of the listening
exercises in their folders, so they can listen to
the recording and read at the same time.
•  Log on into linguascope
•  Extension- listen to Spanish songs, Spanish
radio and Spanish films.
Reading
•  Revise vocabulary from their folders:
Read the vocabulary with your child and ask him/ her
to write again and again those words he/she finds
most challenging. Help them to make associations
with the English language or with any other language
you speak at home.
•  Log on viva active learn:
To find the vocabulary lists and to re do the reading
exercises that we have done in class.
•  Extension: There are books and magazines in
Spanish in the school library.
Speaking and writing
•  At the end of each unit, pupils write a paragraph based
on the topic they have studied.
•  They have to learn the paragraph by heart and say it as
a presentation for their speaking exam and write it for
their writing exam.
•  Ways to help them:
•  They can take the whole essay in English to their exam,
so they can make notes in English to revise.
•  They can have pictures to remind them of what they
have to say/ write.
•  They can ask me to record myself reading the essay,
and this will help them with their pronunciation.
Make sure you include:
connectives (level 2)
qualifiers,
different verbs tenses (level 5/6)
opinions (level 3)
reasons ( level 4)
comparisons.
Check your accuracy: Spellings,
agreements, verb endings.
For your speaking, practise saying the
paragraph aloud until you sound fairly
fluent, and don’t be scared to speak
loud and clear!
