An Act authorizing the city of lynn to sell certain unused PLAYGROUND LAND. 1 Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to which is to provide land for old age housing, hereby 3 therefore it is declared to be an emergency law, necessary 4 for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and 5 convenience. 2 defeat its purpose, Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 Section 1. The city of Lynn, by its proper authorities, may 2 improve, lay out and sell any part or parts or the whole of the 3 unused portion of Magnolia avenue playground, so called, in said 4 city; provided, that the board of park commissioners of said 5 city shall, by vote at a regular meeting of said board, assent to 6 such sale. Said unused portion is bounded and described as 7 follows: Northwesterly by land of City of Lynn, three hundred 8 eighty and seventy-seven one-hundredths feet; Northeasterly 9 by land of City of Lynn, four hundred twenty-six and forty-five I 10 one-hundredths feet; Southerly by land of Winslow Bros. 11 & Smith Co., one hundred sixty-three and sixty-four one-12 hundredths feet; Southerly by land of Ruggiero, eighty-three 13 and eighty one-hundredths feet; Southwesterly by land of 14 Clark, et ah, fifty-one and forty one-hundredths feet; South-15 westerly by land of O’Connell, fifty-six and thirty-five one-16 hundredths feet; Southeasterly by land of Clark, et ah, eighty-17 five and no one-hundredths feet; Southerly by land of Newhall, 2 HOUSE No. 3009. [July, 1959. 18 forty-five and sixty-four one-hundredths feet; Southerly by land 19 of Wheeler, forty-two and forty-three one-hundredths feet; 20 Southwesterly by land of Osgood, fifty-two and nine one-hun-21 dredths feet; Southwesterly by land of Betopoulos, forty-nine 22 and sixty one-hundredths feet; containing ninety-six thousand, 23 three hundred and thirty square feet, more or less, and shown on 24 plan entitled “Plan of Land for Sale by City of Lynn”, dated 25 July fifteen, nineteen hundred and fifty-nine, and signed by 26 William B. Hilton, City Engineer. Section 2. This act shall take full effect upon its acceptance 1 2 during the current year by vote of the city council of said city, 3 subject to the provisions of its charter.
