AQUASEAL FORMULA 2000
AQUASEAL FORMULA 2000 is recommended for a wide variety
of applications. Because of its incredible repellency to water, oil
and stains, AQUASEAL FORMULA 2000 is suitable for
maintenance areas, food service areas, kitchen tops and counters,
restrooms, patios, and barbeque areas.
ADVANTAGES:
ŸReduces cracking, spalling, freeze-thaw damage, chemical
degradation, biological growth, efflorescence, and dirt pickup on
stone and masonry surfaces.
ŸIt is a transparent, subsurface vapor-permeable sealer that does
not change the appearance of stone or masonry.
ŸResistant to UV and biological degradation.
ŸOffers protection against common stains like: coffee, red wine,
soda, salad dressing, colored liquids, ketchup, mustard, and
spaghetti sauce.
SURFACE PREPARATION:
To ensure maximum penetration, clean surfaces thoroughly
with an appropriate cleaner prior to application. Make sure to
remove all surface dirt, oil, grease, curing compounds, and
other coatings or contaminants that will inhibit the AQUASEAL
FORMULA 2000 from penetrating. All new concrete should be
allowed to cure for at least 28 days.
The substrate should be inspected to identify improvements or
repairs which may be necessary before applying AQUASEAL
FORMULA 2000.
Prior to application, all the mortar joints should be sound and all
cracks larger than hairlines should be filled with a suitable
patching material.
Alkali, lime or efflorescence on the surface needs to be treated
or cleaned with a proper neutralizing agent.
If acidic or caustic cleaning agents are used, neutralize the
surface and completely wash it to remove any excess residues.
Before proceeding with any surface preparation, customers
must test the chosen cleaning method to ensure the surface
needs are met.

AQUASEAL FORMULA 2000 complies with the American
Disability Acts recommendation for slip resistance on polished and
honed surfaces.
APPLICATION:
Always conduct a test patch on each surface type before
proceeding with the overall application to ensure suitability,
desired results, and proper application procedures.
STIR WELL BEFORE USING. DO NOT DILUTE OR ALTER
THE MATERIAL.
AQUASEAL FORMULA 2000 should be applied to horizontal
or vertical surfaces in a single, liberal, saturating application to
ensure the surface remains wet for a few seconds before
penetrating. It can be applied with a low pressure garden-type
sprayer, brush, roller or mop application.

BASIC USES:
AQUASEAL FORMULA 2000 can be used horizontally or
vertically for indoor and outdoor applications. It is designed to
provide a durable, subsurface, transparent protective barrier
against oil, water and other stains on porous mineral surfaces such
as stone and tile. AQUASEAL FORMULA 2000 is a penetrating
sealer for:
• Marble
• Grout
• Leather
MADE IN U.S.A.
ITEM NO. 2000
AQUASEAL FORMULA 2000 is a clear flat penetrating, water
base emulsion sealer that repels water and oil borne stains. Unlike
waxes, acrylics, urethanes or other type of film forming treatments,
AQUASEAL FORMULA 2000 penetrates deep into porous
materials. It physically and chemically bonds to the substrate
creating a long lasting fluorochemical barrier that “locks out” oils,
water, and soil. This barrier forces liquids to bead on surface,
allowing them to be picked up easier which helps prevent staining.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
TECHNICAL
BULLETIN
On porous substrates, two applications of AQUASEAL
FORMULA 2000 will provide superior protection. Apply the
second coat immediately after the first coat has penetrated (a
few minutes after the first coat appears dry).
Apply uniformly and avoid over application. Surface pools or
puddles should be removed by back rolling or brooming until
AQUASEAL FORMULA 2000 completely penetrates into the
pores. Failure to do so may result in a blotchy and/or
glistening appearance.
Because AQUASEAL FORMULA 2000 is a penetrating
sealer, it can be painted over with oil or water based paints.
Allow the sealed surface to dry for a minimum of 24 hours
before top coating.

LIMITATIONS:
Ÿ AQUASEAL FORMULA 2000 is not recommended for
non-porous substrates.
Ÿ The surface and air temperature should not exceed 100°F.
(38°C) at the time of application.
Ÿ Do not apply in windy conditions.
Ÿ It is not recommended for below grade application or for
use under hydrostatic pressure.
Ÿ Doesn’t stop bleeding of tannin acid from fresh redwood,
pine or cedar.
MAINTENANCE:
To remove stains from a surface treated with AQUASEAL
FORMULA 2000 use water, soapy water, or a mild detergent
solution; rinse and allow to dry. Do not allow stains or scuffs
to remain on the surface for extended periods of time to avoid
discoloration.
For maximum protection against stains, it is recommended
that the surface be treated periodically. The amount of time
between re-treatment will depend on the traffic exposure,
traffic type, number of cleaning cycles, type of stains, and the
amount of soils or stains.
