HOW DOES IT WORK? - Division of Housing and Food Service

Grab a meal on the go with the Division of Housing and
Food Service’s Eco2Go program! Now, you can get a
carry-out meal from your favorite residential dining hall,
either J2 or Kinsolving. Just bring your UT ID card to the
cashier during normal operating hours, use a meal swipe
(or cash or Bevo Bucks), and enjoy a meal on the run!
HOW DOES IT WORK?
1. Pay a $5 fee (in cash or Bevo Bucks) to participate in
the Eco2Go program at Kinsolving or J2.

3. Purchase a meal with a meal swipe from your
meal plan. Individual door rates for Bevo Bucks or
cash is $6.00 for breakfast, $7.75 for lunch/brunch,

4. Receive a time-stamped receipt (and hang on to it
– you need it to leave the dining hall!).
5. Fill your Eco2Go container with your favorite foods
within the allotted time frame.
a. Allotted time in Kinsolving is 10 minutes and
15 minutes in J2.
b. Remember that the lid of your container must
be able to close.
6. Return your receipt to the cashier before you leave
the dining hall. If you do not exit the dining hall
within the 10 or 15 minute time frame, you will be
charged for an additional meal.
7. Enjoy your meal in your room or on the go!
8. Rinse your Eco2Go container and return it to one of
the five receptacle locations.
9. After returning, you have two options:
a. Take another clean to-go container.
b. Take an Eco2Go coin to exchange for
another reusable container when you’re
ready to carry out again.

Why is DHFS starting this trial program?
One reason is to be more environmentally friendly.
Ditch the styrofoam and cardboard containers
and use the BPA-free, dishwasher-safe Eco2Go
containers! Not only are they reusable, they’re
recyclable and even microwave-safe. Another
reason is to help our students – DHFS is looking
for a way to make dining more convenient for you.
