Element One
TEAM VALUE
• Individuals play the game, but teams win
championships.
• Teamwork is birthed when you concentrate on “we”
instead of “me.”
• If you do everything alone and never partner with
other people, you create huge barriers to your own
potential.
• An individual cannot do the incredible, significant
task. If it’s significant it takes a team.

When communicating outside the team, it is important to be

• Realistic – Set and receive real expectations.
When communicating with people not on the team, the most

What does a successful team look like?
How does an effective team work together?
1
Right People. Right Places. Having the right people in
the right places is essential to team building.
2
Great Vision. Great vision precedes great achievement.
3
Good Attitude. Good attitudes among players do not
guarantee a team’s success, but bad attitudes guarantee its
failure.
4
Game Plan. The game plan tells what you want to happen.
But the scoreboard tells what is happening.
5
Know the Score. The scoreboard provides a snapshot of the
game at any given time.

How does an effective team work together?
6
Consistent Communication. Communication increases
commitment and connection; they in turn fuel action.
7
Team Countability. Teammates must be able to count on
each other when it really counts.
8
Recognition. Help the people on your team develop morale
and momentum to create a winning team.
9
Adjustments. The higher the level on which you and your
team are competing the smaller the adjustments become to
achieve your best.
10
Leadership Depth. Great teams have great depth.
