Dress Code S TKA’s Philosophy TKA is committed to partnering with parents to teach students how to honor Christ at all times. Students’ clothing should show respect for themselves, their families, and their school. Students are expected to choose clothing that is modest, in good taste, appropriate for the classroom and avoids extremes in fashion. From: Student/Parent Handbook TKA’s Dress Code Applies: Whenever students are on campus--during and after school hours. At ALL TKA activities including retreats, athletic games-both home and away, evening and weekend activities. Special dress code regulations will be communicated for events such as for Spirit Week, Winterlude, JSB, etc. Hats, Caps, Hoods No hats, caps, hoods, sweatbands, or visors of any type are to be worn on campus by any student during the school day, except in cases of inclement weather when exceptions may be made for outside only. Shirts With Writing No shirts that contain writing or logos that dishonor God, insult others, or promote alcohol/drugs/tobacco/violence No band t-shirts may be worn. Underwear Underwear must not show at any time, even when bending or stretching. This includes: Boxers Bra or camisole straps Hairstyles No unnatural hair colors such as blue, pink, green, etc. No extreme haircuts and styles. Natural highlights are O.K. Hair For Young Men Hair must be neatly cut and NO LONGER THAN – eyebrows in front the middle of the ear on sides the shirt collar in back Piercings NO body piercing, facial piercing, or tattoos Boys may not wear earrings, nose rings, grills or excessive jewelry. Girls may not wear heavy makeup. Pant Styles for All Students Students MAY NOT WEAR pajama bottoms, yoga pants, leggings as pants, pants with holes. Pant Styles for All Students Examples of athletic pants that are acceptable. Swim Wear Boys’ swimsuits need to be the boxer type. Girls may wear a modest one-piece suit or tankini, with no low cut necklines or high cut legs. Shirts for Young Men Shirts must be worn at all times including practices, runs, and in the weight room. Cut-offs or sleeveless shirts are permitted during athletic activities, but athletes are required to change afterwards into clothes compliant with TKA dress code guidelines. Skirt/Short Length for Young Women Dresses, skirts, and shorts should be no shorter than 6”(six inches) from the floor when measured from a kneeling position at the side. Leggings With Skirts/Shorts STILL no shorter than 6”(six inches) from the floor when measured from a kneeling position even when wearing leggings underneath. Blouse Checklist For Young Women Has sleeves Covers the shoulders completely Covers midriff completely Is NOT low-cut = No cleavage showing Transparency Defined for Young Women Blouses and skirts of transparent material are NOT permitted unless TKA-appropriate clothing is underneath (refer to previous slides) QUESTIONS?
