requires a basic knowledge of quilting technique and
terminology. The quilt and block diagrams portrayed are
virtual images. The layout and look of your project may
differ when using actual fabric.
FABRIC REQUIREMENTS
3/8 yard (35 cm) gray main (C4960 Gray)
¼ yard (25 cm) pink main (C4960 Pink)
1/8 yard (15 cm) orange heart (C4961 Orange)
1/8 yard (15 cm) pink heart (C4961 Pink)
1/8 yard (15 cm) cream floral (C4962 Cream)
1/8 yard (15 cm) gray floral (C4962 Gray)
3/8 yard (35 cm) licorice solid (C100-19 Licorice)
Binding 1/4 yard (25 cm)
Backing ¾ yard (70 cm)
Star Block
Sew 2 licorice solid triangles to opposite sides of the pink
main 4¾" square. Press. Sew 2 licorice solid triangles to
the remaining opposite sides to create the Center Unit.
Center Unit
Refer to the quilt photo for piece placement as each
Flying Geese Unit is a different combination of fabrics.
Draw a line from corner to corner on the wrong side of
the 8 assorted print 3½" squares. Place an assorted print
3½" square on top of a licorice solid 3½" x 6½" rectangle
and sew on the line. Leave a ¼" seam allowance and trim
excess. Press. Repeat on the other side. This will make
1 Flying Geese Unit. Repeat to make 4 Flying Geese Units.
Flying Geese Unit
CUTTING REQUIREMENTS
Please read instructions first before cutting. Seam
allowances vary so measure through the center of the
quilt before cutting border pieces.
Sew a Flying Geese Unit to the left and right side of the
Center Unit. Sew a licorice solid 3½" square to each side
of the 2 remaining Flying Geese Units. Sew the 3 rows
together to complete the Quilt Center.
Gray Main
Cut 2 strips 4½" x WOF for Border.
Pink Main
Cut 1 square 4¾" x 4¾".
Orange Heart, Pink Heart, Cream Floral, and Gray Floral
Cut 2 squares 3½" x 3½" from each assorted print.
Licorice Solid
Cut 2 squares 37/8" x 37/8". Cut each square once diagonally
to create 4 triangles.
Cut 4 squares 3½" x 3½".
Cut 4 rectangles 3½" x 6½".
QUILT ASSEMBLY
Refer to the quilt photo for placement of fabrics.
Quilt Center
Border
Seam allowances vary so measure through the center of
the quilt before cutting border pieces. Sew side borders
first.
Side borders should be 12½". Top and bottom borders
should be 20½".
Finish quilt by layering the quilt top, batting, and back.
Bind with your favorite Riley Blake fabric from the Zombie
Love Collection. Have fun with your colors and enjoy the
journey of making your quilt.
