On Sunday July 28, 2013 at 01:55pm Officers were called to the area of W. Stenger and Business 77 in reference to
a theft that occurred at the HEB on W. Business 77. A clothing description was given out over the radio of a male
wearing a white in color striped shirt and blue jeans. A Patrol Officer spotted a male matching the description
running East of W. Stenger and turn on Hull St. The male was banging on a residence door on the 600 block of Hull
St. The Officer yelled at the male to stay where he was and he began to look at all directions holding on to his groin
area. He then dropped a package of beef from under his shirt that he was concealing and ran toward the open field
located behind the residence. The Officer engaged in a foot pursuit and the male surrendered to the Officer’s
verbal commands. He was placed under arrest for Theft by Possession (Enhanced due to prior convictions of Theft)
and Evading Arrest or Detention both State Jail Felonies. He was identified as 21 year old David Anthony Torres. He
was transported to the station where he was placed in jail. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Judge David
Garza and bond was set at $50,000 dollars.

On Wednesday July 24, 2013 at 06:39 pm a Patrol Officer was dispatched to south bound Expressway 83 in
reference to a possibly intoxicated male driving a gray/silver Geo Prism. Several callers advised that the vehicle had
almost wrecked into other vehicles and that the vehicle had exited off Sam Houston Blvd. Officers located the
vehicle at the Valero convenient store located on the 800 block of S. Sam Houston. As they approached the vehicle
they noticed a male standing outside the vehicle by the passenger door urinating. Officers made contact with the
male who had a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his breath and slurred speech. The male was identified as 43
year old Juan Francisco Cabrera Jr. He was placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct (urinating in public) and
transported to the station for further investigation on Driving While Intoxicated. At the station Cabrera admitted to
driving the vehicle and agreed to provide a sample of his breath. Results of the tested indicated that Cabrera was

well over the legal limit of 0.08. He was charged with Driving While Intoxicated 3 Degree Felony due to prior
convictions on his criminal history. He was arraigned by Judge Benjamin Yudesis and bond was set at $10,000
dollars.
