GOALIE SCORING AND RATING 1. Trophies will be awarded to the 1st & 2nd place goalie. 2. For the first (3) games stats for shots on goal, saves and goals against will be counted. 3. At completion of all regular games a point system will be used to determine standings among goalies. 4. In case of a tie. The highest Save Percentage will be used to determine placement. 5. Shoot outs are not counted. Once the clock runs out the score of the game will be recorded. 6. Final Points Scoring will be as follows: a. Points will be awarded to determine 1st, 2nd and 3rd place goalie in each age division. b. Example of a 4 goalie Division and points awarded for highest Save Percentage: 1st Place =4 points 2nd Place=3 points 3rd Place=2 point 4th Place =1point c. Shutouts in a game will be awarded a 0.5 point per shutout. (shoot outs not included) (0-4) score = .5 point (0-0) score = 1 point d. Example of a 4 goalie Division and points awarded for lowest Goals Against Average: 1st Place =4 points 2nd Place=3 points 3rd Place=2 point 4th Place =1point 7. EXAMPLE: a. After all games have been played the goalie has accumulated the following: 2 shutouts = 1 point rd 3 place in Save Percentage = 2 point st 1 place in Goals Against = 4 points Total 7 Points Goals-Against Average The Formula: The Example: This is the number of goals allowed per 18 minutes played, rounded to two decimal points. Multiply the number of goals allowed by 18 and divide by the total number of minutes played. If you allowed 25 goals in 108 minutes your GAA is (25 times 18 = 450. Divided by 108 = 4.16). Save Percentage This number expresses a goalie's success based on the number of shots he faces. The Formula: Divide the number saves made by the number of shots on goal. Work it out to 3 decimal places. The Example: If you faced 45 shots and allowed 5 goals, your save percentage is .888 (40 saves divided by 45 shots = .888).
