Step1-Drilling existing pedestal: • You can use mounting bracket as a template and should be located at the dimensions shown in fig 1-3. Make sure to use the dimensions for the type of pedestal you have. • Drill 4 holes all the way thru pedestal using a .404 (Y) drill. A slightly larger drill can be used if needed. Make sure everything is there needed to complete the following assembly steps. Compare the kit with the drawings listed at the end of the installation instructions. All kits vary depending on the pedestal used and if it is an air or air/water machine. Step 3 – Assembly • Select the hose reel mount bracket out of kit. It will either look like Fig 4 or Fig 5 FIG 5 FIG 4 REV 7-25-13 4 • • Next you will need the reel or reels depending on if you have an air or air water machine. Insert the slotted end of the reel into bracket and attach using two 1/2-13 x 3/4 hex head bolts per reel required. See Fig 6-7 Fig 7 Fig 6 Insert and tighten bolts • Repeat process on other side of bracket if air water set-up is required. REV 7-25-13 5 • Now mount the bracket to the pedestal. This installation will vary depending on type of pedestal. All 8819 style kits will require the four 3/8-16 x 4” hex head bolts with 3/8 std lock nuts. The 8685 series kits have the hardware already on the pedestal base and will need to be removed in order to mount bracket. Insert or attach bolts and or nuts as shown in Fig 89. Apply thread tape to threads and screw into hose reel as shown in Fig 9 (Note: thread tape not supplied) repeat on other reel if air water. 90 Deg elbow attached REV 7-25-13 8 • Attach hose to 90 deg elbow. See kit drawing for correct hose length for side or sides. Use thread tape on threads. See Fig 10 (Note: thread tape not supplied) repeat on other reel if air water. Attach hose to 90 Deg elbow Fig 10 • Now it is time to remove some items from the machine that will no longer be needed. These items are the flex strain relief and existing air or water hose. Insert the grommet from the kit into the hole where the flex strain relief was removed. Save the air chuck because it will need to be attached to the outlet of the reel before installation is finished, Same for water spout if air water. See Fig 11 (8670 series) – Fig 12 (8685 series) REV 7-25-13 9 8670 series unit Grommet here Fig 11 Remove clamp, flex strain relief and un screw hose from compressor. Run hose for water thru grommet in bottom of machine and then into solenoid if unit is air water. Use thread tape on threads of hose before connecting. (Note: thread tape not provided) (Optional) On 8670 series units, strap hose to bottom of unit using clamp, bolt and nut. Attach air chuck to outlet of hose reel and water spout if air water machine. Use thread tape on hose end before attaching chuck or spout. (Note: thread tape not provided) Reel assembly should now be complete and ready for use.
