ORMGA Executive Board January 23, 2017
Meeting called to order at 2:00 PM

Approval of December 13, 2016 meeting minutes
A. President's Remarks
The next general meeting (aka Business Meeting) is scheduled for February 21,
2017 at 6:30 pm in the Plantation Club.
The Vice President was asked to begin the process of scheduling the Year End
Dinner after reviewing the dates for the Ocean Ridge Singers and other OR events.
A potential date identified was Tuesday, December 12, 2017.
B. Treasurer's Report
The Treasurer reported that as of today we have 3 new members, 160 members
have renewed their membership, 10 members have resigned for various reasons
and 25 members have not renewed their membership yet. The last day to renew
memberships is January 31, 2017. The Treasurer will send out a final reminder
about renewing membership this week.
The Treasurer recommended that planned spending for 2017 be reviewed, as the
budget was based on having 180 members. There are currently 163 members
signed up, revenue is anticipated to be ~ $700 less than budgeted.
C. 2017 Club Championship
Options for this year’s Club Championship will be discussed with the membership at
the February meeting.
D. Membership Report
The Board discussed ways to learn about new residents moving to OR so that they
can be contacted about joining the league. It was also recommended that the
Membership Committee contact new members directly to welcome them to the
league and help them in understanding how the league runs, and provide them with
a packet of information as well as an overview of the information on the ORMGA
site.
E. 2017 Eagle Cup
Eagle Cup sign-up will be opened up on the website, a minimum of 40 (~25%) of the
members are needed to sign-up to have the Eagle Cup in 2017 due to the effort
required to maintain it. Sign-up will be open until February 13, 2017, prior to the
2/20 & 2/22 Stableford. The Secretary will send an Email message to the
membership to promote the sign-up as well as update the Alert message on the
ORMGA web site.
F. Reduced Tee Times
The Board received notification from Ocean Ridge Golf that the number of tee time
slots allocated for 4 ORMGA Special Events for 2017 have been reduced due to
“utilization and overall participation in 2016” for these events. Special Events: 2/20
& 2/22 Stableford From 16x’s down to 12x’s, 7/19, 24 & 26 Match Play from 12x’s
down to 10x’s, 9/18, 19 & 20 Club Championship 16x’s down to 12x’s, 11/6 & 8
Master’s Tournament 16x’s down to 12x’s. The Tournament Director is reviewing
the information to understand the impact of the reductions.
G. Coordinators
League Coordinators have been asked to help in the identification of their
replacements prior to the expiration of their term. Roger LeClair and Ray Beadnell
will be ending their term in June.
Special Event Coordinators have been identified and are listed on the web site.
Additional event coordinators are needed to help cover events as well as learn how
the events are run for future years.
H. Old Business
It was reviewed that recent changes to tee adjustment was based on the USGA
recommendation to adjust the smallest group of tee players. The Web Master will
be contacted to review if tee adjustments can be made based on the course being
played.
I. New Business
Requested that Tournament Director update the Notes on the ORMGA Web site to
reflect Free Pizza for the February Business Meeting and that the Secretary to send
an email to the membership approximately 2 weeks (Feb 8, 2017) before the
meeting as additional notification.
