Emmen
The city of Emmen centers a region bustling with activities. Whether it’s a day of shopping or going
on a thrilling adventure at the brand new Wildlands Adventure Zoo. Or maybe hiking or biking in one
of the Netherlands’ greenest regions: one will be experiencing the lovely virginal landscape which
inspired Vincent van Gogh to dedicate his life to art. But also Emmen’s renewed central square, with
the beautiful ‘Atlas theatre’, makes for an inspiring environment, as does the downtown area with its
cosy terraces and high quality restaurants.

Climatic conditions at the time of the event
The Netherlands have a temperate maritime climate, influenced by the North Sea and the Atlantic
Ocean, with cool summers and moderate winters. Average daytime temperatures vary from 2°C to
6°C in the winter and 17°C to 20°C in the summer.
The climate of the Netherlands can be classified as mild and humid with temperatures in the
warmest month of 22°C on average and four or more months with temperatures above 10°C on
average.
As the province of Drenthe is situated in the northern part of the Netherlands, temperatures are

The start/finish is at the Ullevi, Emmen and the team area is located next to the soccer stadium of FC Emmen (JENS Vesting), Stadionplein 1, Emmen which is
200 metres from start/finish.

Neutral service
The neutral service provider will be Shimano.
Shimano is established in 1921, Shimano today globally operates three key businesses, with sales
offices and factories all over the world. Shimano supplies “captivating products” to help promote the
bicycle and sports fishing cultures.
More information about the neutral service from Shimano will be given during the team managers
meeting.
Official training
Thursday 29 June 2017 – 13h30-15h30 – Official Time Trial training session Emmen
Please note: it’s not possible to train on the whole track on another day than during the official
training. Part of the track is a highway, it’s strictly forbidden and dangerous for bicycles.
Registration fee for National Federations
The competition will take place under UCI regulations: http://www.uci.ch/
In reference to the UCI regulations (art. 16.20.006) registration shall take place on the UCI online
registration website http://regonline.uci.ch/
The UCI online registration begins 5 weeks before the event 12:00=(GMT+1) and closes 3 weeks
before the event. The maximum number of participants per nation in each event will be six per sport
class. The registration dates are available on the UCI website.
The registration fee is € 75,00 per accredited person. Only the National teams that have paid the
registration fee within the deadline will receive their accreditation passes and be able to take part in
the competition.

Race Permanence
The race permanence for the time trial, road and team relay competition on Friday 30 June, Saturday
1 July and Sunday 2 July will be in the soccer stadium of FC Emmen (JENS Vesting), Stadionplein 1,
Emmen.
Riders home
The riders home will be located at E.A.C. De Sperwers, Ullevi 1, Emmen. The riders home will be open
from Thursday 29 June until Sunday 2 July.
Riders can use the changing rooms at E.A.C. De Sperwers, there are a few wheelchair accessible
showers available. At the riders home E.A.C. De Sperwers are offering a small selection of food and
drinks that can be bought by teams.
Accreditation/Registration Centre
The Accreditation Centre will be in the soccer stadium of FC Emmen (JENS Vesting), Stadionplein 1,
Emmen. Accreditation Centre will be open from Thursday 29 June until Sunday 2 July daily from
09h00 -18h00.
All team accreditations will need to be collected from the Accreditation Centre. The Accreditation
Centre is located in the soccer stadium of FC Emmen (JENS Vesting), Stadionplein 1, Emmen.
Media
All media planning to attend the event must be accredited in order to gain access to the press room,
the press vehicle and the start/finish area. To apply for a press accreditation for the UCI Para-Cycling

Athletes are requested to come at the classification with their bicycle, cycling clothes and medical
documents. The detailed classification schedule will be published on the UCI website (www.uci.ch)
three weeks before the event.
Doping control station
All anti-doping checks will take place at soccer stadium of FC Emmen (JENS Vesting), Stadionplein 1,
Emmen.
The athletes must go to the checking area by their own means of transport, though they must be
accompanied by a representative of the organisation who will take care of them in the arrival area.
Visas
Is your team participating at the Para-Cycling Road World Cup in Emmen and in need of a Visa? Your
National Cycling Federation should contact the organisation, requesting an invitation letter for each
participant. Please provide the name, date of birth and title of each person (rider, staff) in order to
provide the proper letters
After the request is received, the application will be processed. The organisation will send the
individual invitation letters for all participants back to the National Cycling Federation. Riders and
staff can take this letter to apply for their visa at the Dutch embassy.
When you apply for your Visa at the Dutch embassy in your country you need to bring your invitation
letter from the organisation, that states you are a participant during the UCI Para-Cycling Road World
Cup .
