Retreats and Reflection Days
2016
Saturday 27 February 10am-3pm
Fruits of the Earth and Work of Human Hands
Facilitator: Mila Burke
Mary was the spiritual oven in which Christ the living bread was formed, and born. He is the living
bread from heaven, our daily bread, that which gives us sustenance, meaning and body to our daily
lives. This is a “hands on” reflective day to contemplate the bread making process and how each
stage of it relates to our lives and spirituality. We shall be making a collective loaf of bread as part
of this retreat day.
Saturday 5 March 10am-3pm
Would you mind if I wash your feet?
Facilitator: Jane O’Carroll sm
The symbolic image of washing feet refers to the ministry that flows out of love. Like Peter, there
comes a moment in each of our lives when some kind of conversion touches us and we know we are
free to change. The sleeping ministers in our hearts are awakened and we know that part of our
calling is to wash feet. If Christ should suddenly stand before me with a towel thrown over his
shoulder and a basin of water in His hands, would I have the courage to take off my shoes and really
let Him wash my feet?
Saturday 16 April 10am-3pm
Interrupted Journeys – Unexpected Gifts
