Lea Valley Athletics Network Newsletter No.4 The Lea Valley Athletics Network comprises: Woodford Green AC with Essex Ladies, Enfield & Haringey AC, Orion Harriers, Trent Park Running Club, Lee Valley Athletics Centre and Southgate F.E. College. The Lea Valley Athletics Network is funded by England Athletics to further develop Coaching and participation in Athletics in the Lea Valley area. That’s it, it’s all over. WHAT do we do now? That’s the question being asked by everyone. I’m sitting watching the closing ceremony of the paralympics and can’t believe what a roller coaster of emotions it’s been since the games began on 27 th July. I hope you enjoyed it and if you weren’t lucky enough to get tickets that you had a great time following it on TV. By the way, I make it 82 athletics world records broken at the Paralympics!! Let’s hope the Network, our clubs, affiliated organisations and current and future athletes benefit from what has been an amazing event. It’s up to us. We have also now begun joint working with the Essex network and their events will now be open to LVAN club members to attend. The good news is that the Network was successful in gaining a 3 rd year of funding to enable us to continue and build on the work so far. This is a one time golden opportunity to recruit anyone you know who may be interested in helping out at your club, please don’t miss it.
