The Year 7/8 team had a fabuloustime at Camp
Careyin thefirstweekof term.
The weatherwas kindto us and we all cameback
richerin experience
withthe studentslearningnew
skillsin manyareasincluding;
kayaking,
abseiling,
rock wall climbingand archery.The superdark
Burmatrailprovedto be a hit with manyof the
students
reallychallenging
themselves
anddoingit
on theirownin totaldarkness.
Otherstudentspreferredthe groupapproach,this
seemedto involvemuch shriekingand laughing
followedby assertions
of absolutebravery.Emosi
and Matiasmay have got a littlelost duringthis
experience
as they appearto havereappeared
at
differentpointsmany times.....weshall supply
those two with compassesnext time. The water
slide was not for the faint heartedwith some
seriousspeedsbeingreachedand somemassive
splash-downs
occurring.A big thanksto Eugene
who spent twenty minutes diving in that icy
refreshing
waterholefor the glasseswhichended
up on the bottom! The flyingfox, which began
fromthe uppermost
branchesof a hugetree,was
so highthat all studentshad to be harnessed
in.
Mostof us, including
Mrs Al-Muddufar
conquered
our fear and had severalgoes,as for Chad,he
went so far as to inverthimselfand fly in upside
down!!!
All studentsand staff would like to especially
thankall thoseparentsand relativeswho helped
out over the threedays - withoutyour awesome
supportthiscampcouldnothavehappened.
