8 Ideas Newsletter Idea #2 Is There A Right Person? Happy Valentine’s Day Idea # 2 Is There A Right Person? A Tulip by any other name is still a Tulip but what about . . . that particular . . . one? Soul Mate* We sometimes, find ourselves believing an idea that is romantic, idealistic, and spiritual, that is, that we are unique, different from anyone else in our essential being. And that somewhere out there, in the real world, we have a “soul mate”, a mate, or even just a partner, that we belong to and who belongs to us. Someone who we fit with in such a way that we feel complete, at peace, and in place. This idea is not logical in the sense that it understands a relationship as one plus one equals two like units in an auto plant, truly interchangeable. But rather it conjures up images of True Love and claims the language of music, art, dance, and poetry. *See Poems From InnerRESOURCES 8 Ideas ©Jeff Landau, InnerRESOURCES Publications 1 8 Ideas Newsletter, February 2008, St Valentine Edition, InnerResources Publications Exercises and Questions Do you believe you have a soul mate? Is There A Right Person? A One and Only One? Have you ever asked yourself this question? Did you ask this question before your first relationship? Or did you ask this question after at least one relationship had gone wrong. Does love just happen at the right time with only that special one? Is this idea helpful to you? Is love and attachment “your choice” to give and take back? Or like Lorenz ducklings, do we “fall in love” and get attached to anyone who “crosses our path“ at the right time”?
