Bay Village Press Release 10/06/2014 On 09/29/2014, at 1225 hrs, BVPD responded to Midland on several calls of a male and female arguing on the sidewalk. Officers located the couple and learned it was a only verbal argument. While speaking with them, it was learned the 18 yoa female had an outstanding warrant with BVPD. She was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and transported to BVPD. She was later released after posting a bond. On 10/02/2014, at resident in the 30000 block of Lake Rd. reported a taxi cab had just dropped a fare off in front of his house. The male fare had an argument with the driver, and began walking down Breezewood. The caller believed the fare was intoxicated, and did not belong in the area. Officers located the 24 yoa male walking on Breezewood. He was highly intoxicated and did not know where he was, but stated he was walking home. The Bay Village resident was arrested for Disorderly Conduct-Intoxication. He will face charges at RRMC. On 10/04/2014, at 0816 hrs, a resident on Tanglewood Lane reported a young deer entangled in a soccer net in a backyard. The animal was small enough officers were able to restrain it in order to cut the netting and free it. At 0935 hrs, a resident on Saddler Road, a street near Tanglewood Lane, reported a deer entangled in a net in a backyard. This deer was larger than the previous one and physically destroyed the homemade net prior to officer’s arrival. The now agitated deer was last seen running around the neighborhood with netting and PVC piping visibly hanging on its body/antlers. Several subsequent sightings were reported to us by residents. They were advised of the situation and also there is nothing police can do about a healthy deer. Citizens should not try to take matters into their own hands. Deer can be dangerous in certain situations, especially when they perceive your attempt to aid/assist as a threat. On 10/04/2014, at 2327 hrs, a resident in the 300 block of Huntmere called to complain about a group of kids running around the area. Officers responded and a located a birthday party that was breaking up. While officers were talking to some of the party goers, they suspected one of them had been drinking. A portable breath test indicated the 16 yoa female had been drinking. She was arrested for Underage Consumption of Alcohol and will face charges at CCJC. On 10/05/2014, at 0058 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Bassett Rd. near the railroad tracks for a traffic violation. After speaking with the 45 yoa male driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking. Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result the Westlake resident was arrested for OVI. He will face charges at RRMC. On 10/06/2014, at 0107 hrs, a BVPD officer observed a male walking away from a vehicle parked at the dead end of Lake Park. After speaking with the 24 yoa male, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking. Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result the Cleveland resident was arrested for OVI. He will face charges at RRMC.
